Clean grocery store, shelves seem well stocked. Unfortunately they don’t have roasted chicken or a pharmacy at this location. I usually prefer food basic or fresh Co over No Frills because they allow Visa whereas no Frills does not.
Lots of parking available and I didn’t see any shopping carts abandoned in the parking lot.

Newer food basics of Markham, clean and offers a variety of cheaper grocery options, along the same prices as NoFrills. Best part about this Food Basics is that there is a Dollarama located right beside it, so if you need any cheap options for last minute containers, etc. for your food, you can conveniently go next door. Easy to drive to as there is a traffic light located nearby, at an unbusy intersection.
Of course the design of this Food Basics is much like the other ones, bags cost 5 cents as usual. Although there’s a NoFrills slightly south of this Food Basics, there’s usually less people at this Food Basics, also meaning less chaos and less wait time at the cashier. The products that go on sale are different at both grocery stores, so keep watch on your flyers and if you want to go to both stores, come on Markham road towards 16th and both stores will conveniently be a 5 minute drive apart.

This is one of the «newer» Food Basics stores in Markham; by newer I mean in the past 3 – 5 years of course. It’s also quieter compared to the No Frills approximately 1 km south.
Food Basics is, in general, a cheaper Loblaws. You get a smaller variety of food products here, but prices are definitely lower. From a small sample of Food Basics stores I’ve been to, the variety here is about average, and if you can’t find anything that you want in this store, chances are Loblaws is what your target market is.
The cashiers are nice and courteous, and will process your order efficiently, as well as saying hello and goodbye.
As with all Food Basics stores, 5 cents per bag policy is enforced here.

Brand New Food Basic!
Definitely clean and nice, without any funny smell!
Ample parking… since hardly anyone goes there as it is in a new sub division.
Open Daily from 8 am to 10 pm, with longer hours than Leo’s No Frills down the street that closes at 9 pm on weekdays and even earlier on weekends!
Accepts all credit cards!
Staffs here are nice and friendly, that’s always the case when the business is new!
