There’s something to be said for the Indigo chain. It’s reliable, in that you know that if what you want is fairly popular you can probably find it. Of course, if they don’t carry it, there’s a high chance the local bookstore that might have is out of business by now. And hopefully whatever you want to buy has been given the Heather Reisman seal of approval. But my favourite part is browsing the graphic novel section and the remaindered section. You can often find fairly popular books there that walk the line between evergreen properties that they’ll sell forever(I’m looking at you, Harry Potter!) and useless crap. I don’t know how the iRewards program works now; I know there’s no actual rewards for it, you just get a discount. Apparently, since people are starting to notice that new books are a lot cheaper to buy online, Indigo is starting to specialize in housewares and stationary. I suppose we can look forward to the day that they put people who sell those out of business.

I really liked this bookstore. It’s in the Milton Crossroads Shopping Centre just off the 401. It’s similar to a Barnes & Noble. I like how high the ceilings were and how bright the store was. The books are easy to find & the displays are really well organized. When I walked in, my eyes were drawn to the center of the store where there were items for the house, too. Pretty cool. I could have myself an at-home spa day w/the things I found back there. The kids section looked fun, too. The art and décor in the whole store is actually really appealing. If it encourages folks to get into reading, I’m all for it. There’s also a Starbucks adjacent to this store, so you coffee lovers can cozy up to your books while satisfying your coffee craving. Last thing to mention is that the people are really nice! I walked in & maybe within 10 paces, was approached to see if I needed help finding something. … Looking forward to my at-home spa day. Haha!
