Since 1985, the Clothesline® program has established itself as a national movement asking all Canadians to keep Clothesline® in mind while cleaning and to make a gently-used clothing, small household item or electronic donation.
Clothesline® is here to help and our primary goal is to make donating as easy as possible. By visiting diabetes. ca/promise or calling 1−800−505−5525, Canadians can schedule a free pick-up from the convenience of their home. We accept gently-used clothing donations, all cloth based items, footwear, books, toys, kitchenware, electronics and much more!
Clothesline® also accepts donations of cell phones, PDA’s, ink and toner laser cartridges and many household electronics (please call for details). Have peace of mind knowing that when donating to Clothesline®, you are not only helping the more than 9 million Canadians living with diabetes or prediabetes, you are also helping our environment.
History
Established in 1985.
Since 1985, the Clothesline® program has established itself as a national movement asking all Canadians to keep Clothesline® in mind while cleaning and to make a gently-used clothing, small household item or electronic donation. This year alone, Clothesline® has diverted more than 46 million kilograms of clothing, household items and electronics from our landfills. This translates into a savings of 840 million kWh of energy while reducing our donors’ carbon footprint by 115 million kilograms of CO2 emissions. This is equivalent to driving a car 41,000 times around the globe or saving 8.2 million trees.
