There’s a ridiculous amount of big box stores in my area that have house items and this another one that is on the list. Similar to the one at Winston Churchill and 401, it’s another cookie cutter store from The Hudson Bay company and it mainly focus on kitchen, bath, and beddings. There are a few other things here like rugs and some décor but they’re not the focus. So how does this compare to HomeSense, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Pier 1, Urban Barn, and the other millions stores here? It actually fares really well as it’s well organized, has friendly staff who actually help you, good selection(better than the Winston Churchill), and have great bi-weekly sales. It’s constant coupon of 20 — 25% off any regular priced item helps as well. I came here because they had a great Cyber Monday sale where you purchase $ 50 of any products and you get $ 40 back in gift cards… in addition to the 25% coupon I had in my hand. This was a no brainer to come here as I needed a few things for the upcoming Christmas parties I was hosting. I found everything in minutes as all sections were well arranged, neat, and clearly identified. I was also asked by 2 sales staff if I needed help while browsing! That’s a novelty. I also passed their sales section and saw that they had some really great deals. T-fal pans at 80% off, Nespresso pods and machines for 60% off… in other words, slashed prices! You can’t find deals like this anywhere usually. I picked up a Henckels knife at 50% in addition to my baking items. The front section is similar to Winners where they bombard you with a sea of chocolate and sweets. Everything from Godiva, Lindt, to gourmet hand pulled Christmas candy was there in multitude of choices. I think they had a 4 ft section by 8 ft section for Godiva alone. Their dark chocolate hot coco was calling my name. In addition to the many sweet choices, there was a lot of organic teas and tons of coffee choices. They had more deals as they were offering buy 3 and get 1 free. Checking out was super simple and done within minutes. The sales staff seemed tired at the check out but I think it’s because she dealt with a real ornery old lady who couldn’t understand why she couldn’t return her used mattress pad from 8 months ago. Ew. Aside from the tired smiles at check out, service was fast and efficient. It’s a great store to peruse and find your house basics with good prices.
