Mavis Dental Centre

I have been going to Mavis Dental for the last 7 yrs. My family lives close to the office and when I moved back to the area I was looking for a new dentist. Originally I had visited another dentist up the street, but I had a very negative experience there taking out my wisdom teeth. My family had been going to Mavis before I moved back and suggested that I give them a try.
I booked an appointment to see Dr Monica (Amanika Luciani) for a consult. Since my family had been going there for years I had decided to give them a try. The first dentist that I went to in the area for my wisdom removal had outsourced a «travelling specialist» who performed the extraction. The result was my gums being hacked up and the extraction not complete. Dr Monica, after our initial consult corrected all the mistakes that the «specialist» had done. After the procedures for correction were complete, my wife and I had moved our business to Mavis Dental.
Over the years my wife and I have had emergencies and issues which needed immediate attention. I have had no issues being able to see Dr Monica or Dr (Micheal Luciani) Mike either that day or the next day. I appreciate that they take the time with you to tell you the issues or options for your dental health. This professionalism and courteous nature also translates to the dental hygienists and support staff at the office. The hygienists are friendly and thorough with their examination/​cleaning. The front desk staff are great as well! Understanding the daily grind of most people, they will try to schedule and appointment that fits your life. not theirs. If you have an issue with your teeth or dental health and are in the Mississauga area, don’t have any hesitation to visit Mavis Dental…5 stars!

In short:
–they never take emergency appointments despite what their website says
–although open 6 times a week, the dentist is only there 3 times a week making it impossible to get an appointment.
— You’ll probably leave this place with 100 times more problems than when you went in with and 99% of those problems will probably be due to the rushed slip shot work of the dentists or hygienist there.
–If you love your teeth, AVOID this place like the plague.
Long story:
The only reason my family and I went to this dental centre is because it was close to where we had just moved. it seemed like a nice family business run by a married couple [both d.d.s].
However, everything else about this place is horrible, from the admin staff to the poor quality of care provided.
Started off with a cleaning that was very rushed and ended with the hygienist chipping my tooth. Dr. Mike Luciani apologized to me about it but didn’t fit me in for another appointment to FIX the tooth for another 2 weeks! I waited in pain for the appointment only to turn up and find the doctor was «busy» but his wife was free to see me. I just wanted the tooth fixed so I didn’t care who was doing it but Dr. Amanika Luciani is probably the WORST dentist ever. I left in much much more pain which only got worse. They wouldn’t see me as an emergency despite that I had been in pain for about a month caused by a cleaning from them.
Was fed up so I went to a different dentist in Toronto, Turns out they had grilled one of my molars down too much while my mouth was frozen. Also some residue from the chipped tooth had gotten stuck under my molar because they didn’t clean it after fixing it. [OR DO THEIR JOB PROPERLY].
All I wanted was a routine cleaning while I was home for the summer which ended in me dishing out money on follow up appointments to fix a mistake that THEY made.
I almost feel that they keep messing up so that I have to come back [and pay] for them to fix it.
