Port Credit Busker Fest

A friend suggested I go. Wasn’t a fan of street performers before but Busker Fest changed all that. It was amazing to watch all the performers. Great crowd and atmosphere. I was very presently surprised! Will go again. Especially for the humor of the performers!

Have been yearly to Port Credit Buskerfest (this year I booked off Saturday & Sunday & used a stat day on Friday JUST to have this weekend off) The acts are from all over the world and are amazing !

checked this out for the first time on Friday, and I have to say I was impressed.
the entertainment was amazing we saw a basic street performer, a fire eater, and a break dancing team.
we ate from a food truck, but it wasn’t that great. Mexican pulled pork with rice, salad and beans for $ 11 — I’ve had better tasting fast food.
definitely an awesome summer event for the family to enjoy.

For the last two years I’ve been able to attend the Port Credit Buskerfest and I have to say, it’s one of the coolest, most unique, best organized festivals I’ve been to in the 905 area code. Sure there are lots of ribfests, jazz fests, blues fests and the like in the ‘burbs, but in terms of truly unique weekend events in the summer — Port Credit has it down pat.
Each year the BIA and it’s planning committee of volunteers, hires the most popular buskers (aka street performers) from around the globe. You can catch anything from fire spitters/​swalloers, to death defying stunts, to acrobats, to balloon artists, to clowns, magicians and some that do all of the above and more.
The entire Port Credit strip (and parts of memorial park) get transformed from a small town in Mississauga to an open-​air circus.
While admission is free, my recommendation is that you bring either a roll of loonies, two-​nies or event a fist-​full of five dollar bills to show your appreciation for the acts as they don’t receive much money to be there and rely on your generosity with which to make their living.
This year (2015) is the much anticipated 10^th anniversary of the Port Credit Buskerfest. I predict they’ll be rolling out the red carpet with some extra special acts as well as bringing back some year over year fan faves (what up Rubin dotdotdot and Peter Rabbit).
Definitely great fun for the whole family (and kids of all ages — especially the grown up ones)

This is quite AWESOME!!! There are quite a few acts around Port Credit and I check out a few.
You can find performers from around the world. the performers included magicians, acrobats playing with fire, knifes and much more. Behind the library in the park area they had food installs serving the best such as beaver tail and poutine! and much more. The shops also included jewelry, etc.
Parking is not hard to find you can either park on street, at the library or behind the light house. Which you are there check out the local eatiers in Lakeshore.

I only saw a coupla acts this Buskerfest: USA Breakdancers & Pyromancer.
Great idea of having the acts off Lakeshore, on the side streets. Finding parking wasn’t bad. The organisers should’ve put up some portable toilets for this event. I was pretty surprised that there weren’t any ’round! Not really fair to expect local shop owners to open up their restrooms for the public.
Wished that I had seen more this weekend, but just found out about it on Sunday! Oh well, there’s always next year…
