I wish our Asian supermarkets in Texas, USA are like this supermarket. So many selections to choose from! From noodles to fruits, to Filipino goodies and seafood oh my! I can spend my entire day here no joke. And the best part: the place does not stink like your typical Asian stores here in Texas, USA. This place is clean!

Seriously, this place will make you feel like you are in the hustle and bustle of Downtown Chinatown or from what I’ve seen on pictures and in movies, create a nostalgic feeling of being in an outdoor market in Hong Kong. However, a much more cleaner, easier to access and navigate around market that is. Since there is such an abundant amount of produce at this supermarket, this supermarket presents itself as a gathering place for ethnicity’s of all kinds since there really is something for everyone. There’s also a HUGE and might I add, IMPRESSIVE selection of Chinese herbal teas and some I’ve never heard of before(for tea that is) such as Lychee, Rose Hip teas and really just a whole shelf dedicated to various teas far and wide! The prices are excellent for many fresh items which are often priced too high at places such as No Frills, Longo’s, Fortinos or Metro and you really don’t wind up leaving with a whole lot of fresh local ingredients. On the other hand, shopping almost tri-weekly(yup, just said that) goes a long way at Yuan Ming and I’m often left leaving the supermarket with $ 50-$ 60 worth of fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, and fish, to cook for the family who look forward to chowing down on hearty, healthy, wholesome meals. Summing Up: Great place to get abundant amounts of fresh produce at low prices!
