No, No, No…
We decided to check out a few strip clubs since we are coming back in a few months with friends that wanted the experience. Taboo was (for me) a No No. The guys dancing at this place of business seem like ordinary kids that otherwise would had been hanging out at a park or skating rink. Not overly sexy, not overly well built, kind of surly and grody.
We spent an hour and most of the dancers were late teens, early twenties.

Oh my lord no! The dancers here sure are skinny! In truth, the clientele do seem to be having a good time.

VERY hott dancers with very few inhibitions…
You’re greeted at the door and seated anywhere you’d like. typically they ask if you’d like to sit at a table against the stage… putting you in direct contact with… body parts.
The dancers all seem nice and friendly… suggesting you take them into the back room for a «private dance» for $ 10… well 10 dollars Canadian…
Drinks are, like all quebec bars, a little light on the vodka. but order a double and your cran on the side and you’ll be good!
Can’t wait to go back to Tabooooooo!

Taboo is back!
I had last visited Taboo in the spring of 2006. At that time it seemed to be going downhill. But after closing for a bit, renovations, a new owner and management it’s back to its old self. This review is for my visit in late September of 2012. The bar still features younger guys but not the muscle guys like Campus or Stock.
The place is very warm and friendly. The dancers are attentive but not all over you. Dances are $ 10 or $ 20 and are more private than they used to be. There is still no cover charge or drink minimum.
I was very happy to see that my favorite dancer, Diego, was still there. He was bartending the night we arrived but he remembered us and came right over to say hello. It had been six years. On the weekend he was a dancer. His private dances were as sexy and sweet as ever.
If you remember the old days, you might remember Jerry, a waiter there. He is now the owner and has restored the bar to what it was in its heyday. I have traveled quite a bit and there really are no nude male dance bars like this anywhere. Montréal is unique. If you enjoyed the bar in the old days, you will like it now. If you’ve never been
there, be sure to give it a try.

A guy at another bar tried to convince us the strippers here were too young as if that was a bad thing… well helllllo there. I’m not sure they were underage or anything.
The crowd is almost as entertaining as the strippers… watching the strippers court people for a lapdance (or whatever it is they do…) is entertaining as well. you have your usual creepy old guys, but a lot of others mixed in as well. (and even the old guys who seemingly were «too cool» and not creepy?).
drinks were measured pours but didn’t seem terribly expensive.
one of the strippers was seriously nasty but the rest were enjoyable. they seemed to have a stripper for every type. where else can you watch a nasty punk rock kid who looks like he put a bowl on his head to cut his hair, followed by a cute hipster stripping to MGMT?

Hot damn!
There are three types of strippers in my opinion:
1. Twinks
2. Muscle daddies
3. Jocks
This is the place for twinks and jocks. The twink to jock ratio is 5 to 1. Mostly twinks.
Having said that… dayum! Have you ever come across a 5’4″ skinny thing that weighs maybe 100lbs, wrap himself around the stripper pole, and twirl around? Oh yeah, almost every dancer here does that. It took all of me to not jump on the stage, grab that guy, and drag him back to my hotel room. Mmm, mmm, mmm!
So, I take my man to Montréal for his birthday almost every year… and I end up getting the lapdances while he watches. Taboo is our favorite place to get a lapdance. Surprisingly, the price is lower than other strip bars. They only charge $ 10 per song, unlike the others ($ 20/​song). And the quality of guys here is better.
The last time I got a lapdance, I thought the stripper was gonna poke my eye out with his hard on.
Drinks are strong and service is fast. One of the best gay stripper bars I’ve been to.
