If what you’re looking for is to duck down a dim street, climb stairs marked with duct tape up to a recording studio owned and operated by some of the noisey greatest music being made in this noisey great music city, well Breakglass is the right place. Being here for live shows is a hot sweaty sexy sincere experience, especially if it’s a show by studio owners The Besnard Lakes and the room is full of a heady mix of their fans and best friends pushed up against each other happily. Bands that have recorded here include Holy Fuck, Islands, Patrick Watson, Stars, Sunset Rubdown, Wintersleep, Wolf Parade, The World Provider, Land of Talk; in part because there is some incredible vintage equipment in here, not to mention some really sweet people.
