Popular Guitar Styles:

— Learn to play the guitar with confidence and a great sense of rhythm (ROCK, BLUES, FOLK, ACOUSTIC and various other genres).

— Learn strumming/​picking patterns, licks/​riffs used by well-​known players and singer-​songwriters.

— From recordings, learn ear playing skills to meticulously analyze and recognize chord shapes, scales used, string bends, and various common techniques.

— Memorize complete forms of songs, from recordings and sheet music.

— Lessons on fingerstyle, lead, rhythm and improv. techniques.

— Learn to read guitar music from manuscript, tablature and chord charts.

— Recording studio is available for jam tracks.

Classical Guitar:

— Beginners to advanced students, all ages welcome!

— Quality instruction, offered with a total dedication to the needs of the student.

— Utilize supplementary guitar exercises and studies.

— Learn to apply technique ideas to the needs of your playing style.

— Learn to play with a great tone — plucking hand approach covered in great detail!

History

Established in 1997.

Stephen Weiss has been privately teaching solo guitar music in his home studio since 1997. Past studio locations have been in Saskatoon SK, Lloydminster AB, Calgary AB, and now Dollard-​des-​Ormeaux, in the West Island of Montréal QC. The teaching studio space welcomes people of all ages and levels to learn, rehearse, express, record and grow, musically and aesthetically.

Business Owner

Stephen Weiss has been teaching and performing since obtaining his Bachelor of Music in Music Education Degree from the University of Saskatchewan Music Department in 1997. His teaching experience includes the public school system, the Conservatory at Mount Royal University (Calgary AB), masterclasses, festival adjudications and chamber music coaching. Currently, he teaches weekly lessons at his home studio to students studying classical, fingerstyle and popular guitar music.
