After a party, a bunch of us went out to have a quick bite. Shared the sushi/sashimi platter with one other person and we were both quite satisfied. 24 pieces for $ 30 is a bit steep for what we got, but it all looked and tasted very good. Service was not attentive in the slightest, right from the first moment.

Our family regularly enjoys the service and quality of food in your restaurant on Monkland avenue. Last night, my husband and I treated ourselves to some take out sushi . We were quite disappointed with the lack of choice in our sizeable order(see attached bill). My husband loves kamikaze rolls. The sushi chefs unfortunately did not take this into consideration and also prepared more kamikaze rolls in both our sushi sashimi deluxe plates. There were no cucumber or avocado rolls, just salmon rolls. Of course, we could only be aware of the fact once we were at home and ready to eat! We called to say how disappointed we were, and were upset to be told that night time is quite busy, and there are four chefs so we should have asked for variety in our order. How is it our responsibility to coordonate the chef’s tasks? If we had been in house, would it have been different? We sometimes order from Cinq Saison, who always have wonderful variety in their combos and are also lest costly. We chose to order from Mikado last night because we wanted real sushi. We appreciate the better quality of your food. We find your classic sushi simply better. But the insinuation that it is our responsibility to receive a variety in our order is simply insulting. I hope that this comment helps you to polish the way you prepare your take out orders.

So so delicious! Small restaurant, so the food came relatively fast and the service was great! Dumplings and salads are so great to start, and the sushi is just perfect! The NDG and Titanic are awesoke combinations! You can also ask for them to serve it on boats(:

Les sushis étaient très bons, super frais et bien exécutés. Il était difficile d’arrêter de manger même lorsque nous n’avions plus faim. Nous avons aussi eu droit à l’assiette de sorbet et celle de crème brûlée, et tout était délicieux. Je recommande fortement. Seul hic, pour moi c’est loin d’où je vis et je n’est pas nécessairement le type d’ambiance que je recherché côté musique et déco mais pour la «bouffe» thumbs up

Very good. Worth going back to. Maybe a little pricey but good sushi usually is.

Over priced, flavourless and small. Very unimpressed. With so many amazing sushi places its sad that so much money was spent on less than mediocre product. Food didn’t taste fresh at all… Sadly disappointed

Split the dumplings as a starter, ok, but I have had better. Had the Seafood, Udon Noodles, Teryaki dish which was good, although teryaki is not my favorite type of preparation. Partner had Steak Teriyaki which was excellent. Next time I will try the Tempura dishes. Service was excellent, very attentive.

Great Montréal-style sushi. They have various locations that offer different house speciaties, but their ‘Chardonnay’, ‘Paradise’ and ‘Relax’ rolls are really outstanding. They also offer take-out and delivery

Yum! I live in San Francisco so I know from good Japanese food, and I try to make Mikado a stop whenever I’m back home. Last time I was in town, I took my folks. Dad had a Chicken Katsu that would have had him licking the platter if it hadn’t been so hot. Mom and I sampled some of the ngiri & sashimi, and didn’t find one clunker in the bunch. Their use of green apple in the maki was new to me(I generally eat only at traditional Japanese restaurants) but was lovely. I always make a point of trying rolls I haven’t had before when I can, and Mikado always has a selection of new ones, including ones that the kosher among us can eat.(Most places’ rolls are all eel and crab, so MIkado’s wide variety of rolls that are fish, fruit, vegetable and tasty sauces are a pleasure and delight.) I’ve heard mutterings elsewhere about Mikado being«expensive.» Cheap, they aren’t. But expensive is relative, and I’ve had Japanese food that cost a lot more and tasted a lot worse. But we’re talking about RAWFISH. You get what you pay for — do you want a well-kept restaurant where the food is excellent and you know you’ll walk out healthy, or not? My one complaint is that they have to be a tad more careful with the miso soup. They serve two varieties, one of which has shellfish in it. That’s not the one we ordered — guess which we got?
