Hubby and I ate on the enclosed patio last Friday night, our first night in Montréal. We whittled away about three hours, drinking Sangria(some of the best I’ve ever had), eating poutin(um, Hello!), and finally grazing a wonderfully prepared dinner. I had a steak with potatoes– so basic but a treat, nonetheless, and hubby ordered the mother of all burgers. It had bacon AND foi gras. He thoroughly enjoyed. I let him, with only one heart attack comment. We had a delightfully friendly server who did not mind dishing all the info I requested about Montréal, where to go and what to do. It was slow in there, but loud from the music and the games on TV. There a big Hockey match going on all weekend, I think… The atmosphere is sleek, despite the TVs. The bar is gorgeous, with stainless steel lamp fixtures, wood and tile. It worked. If we hadn’t sat on the patio, we would have sat at the bar tables that were booth seats and tall chairs. It looked comfortable and cozy there in the dimly lit room. All in all, we had a very lovely evening, the food was delicious and simple, and the service helpful. I recommend!

Attracted to Taverne Crescent because of the quasi-patio(note it’s not a real patio so no smoking) and big screen location on said quasi-patio which was playing a canucks game me and my travel partner settled on this resturant. We sat, ordered a beer which was lovely. Had some wings which were divine, followed up with a ceasar salad which I enjoyed aside from the odd croutons, and topped it all off with a crème brule which is good enough to make you believe in god. The patrons were friendly, and some hockey players were spotted(don’t ask me who I don’t actually watch hockey), service was okay, and our waiter was nice enough to draw us a map of the hot spots we should check out that night and give us a run down of happy hours. I would definately go back for that crème brule.
