We combine effective, world-​class instruction in languages and the arts, beautiful facilities and cutting-​edge resources in order to support students in achieving your goals. Programs include French, English, Spanish, Film Studies, Acting, Music and Photography. Classes are small, on average less than 8 students, to make sure that each student receives individualized attention and abundant practice. Tuition is competitive, and excellent value. We also offer educational consulting services including academic advising, program development and assessment, faculty recruitment and institutional partnership building.

History

Established in 2011.

The founders, Cara Weston and Frederick Edell, have worked in education and the arts for over 25 years. They have successfully designed and administered programs in language, film, theatre for universities, colleges and communities in North America and abroad. The New Centre for Languages and Arts is a natural extension of Weston Edell International Education Consultants, their other business in Montréal, Canada.

Meet the Business Owner

Cara W.

Business Owner

Cara holds degrees from the Columbia University Graduate School of Education and the University of British Columbia. Her Ph.D. research, through Tilburg University in the Netherlands, focused on best practices and innovations within international higher education projects. She has developed and administered college and university programs for more than two decades in Teacher Education, English, International Digital Film and International Business in Canada, Japan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. As Head of International Education within the Canadian public college system, she created successful institutional partnerships with colleges and universities in China, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the United States and France for the purposes of joint program development, student and faculty exchange and student recruitment. Cara is credentialed at the highest level by TESL Canada, the national accrediting organization and presents regularly at international education conferences.
