The joint is legit. Holding their own in old school digs next to the underpass, and staring down the Canadian Tire, this family hardware store and cavernous wood depot is worth checking out. The staff were super helpful and didn’t make me feel like an idiot, set me all up with painting supplies and sprays with acronyms for names. They also clearly understood me when I unconsciously switched to English and we had one of those seamless, successful bilingual exchanges that always make me extra-​love Mtl. Friends told me the prices and stock were better here than at either of the neighbouring super chain stores (Depot, Tire) and that did seem to be the case. Villeneuve definitely had the best overall feeling, and tallest totem pole.
