History
Established in 1870.
Brooks Farms has been a working family farm for 6 generations. Our family cleared the trees from our land, and grown food for families for over 100 years. In 1992 father and son Alvin and Paul Brooks with the help of all the family opened a pick your own strawberry business. Pick your own strawberries was the first venture into inviting the public to experience the real life trials, and joy of managing 500 acres of crops.
Over the next 20 years Brooks Farms has included farmers markets, pick your own raspberries, currants, pumpkins, apples and all the fruits and vegetables available in Ontario.
Brooks Farms is proud of all the hard work it take to grow food, and keep our family farm thriving for future generations.
In 2005 «as the story goes» we were attacked by aliens. This aliens have now become friends and we using these fun stories to help reach into the realm of fantasy and joy to include an innovative, creative experience for families from across the GTA.
Meet the Business Owner
Paul B.
Business Owner
I grew up on our family farm across the road from the main Brooks Farms operation. Like all farm boys, I helped Dad with the chores, taking care of the animals, and getting my hands dirty in the equipment. Starting the strawberry business with my parents in 1992 as a 16 year old it was loads of responsibility, but with hard work and good marketing our farm thrived.
In 2010 I married Kelly Hubbard and she help re-brand the farm with a more playful and joyful Alien theme.
Ive always loved to be working and when growing food, and marketting what we grow, there is never a dull moment. In 2011 and 2013 two wonderful children arrived Charlie L, and Penny A and now we get to see our farm through their eyes as well.
