The Bun Bo Hue at this place was delicious. It looked and tasted familiar-comparable to some of the BBH from Vancouver. The décor had an old… hole-in-the-wall vibe to it, but I feel like that’s okay. If I find myself driving through Nanaimo again, I wouldn’t hesitate to come back here again to try some of the other items on their menu. PS. We came here at around 1pm on a Sunday afternoon and my bf asked for more basil leaves and she said they had ran out. Hmmm…

This place was super slow. The food was decent, but we waited more than 40 min for our food. I don’t understand why it takes so long to wait for phở, which typically is ready very quickly at other places. Not a good option for people that don’t have all day to wait for food.

Yum! Finally a place in Nanaimo with acceptable phở. Broth was nice, flavorful, and piping hot. Beef was fresh and in fairly mouth-sized pieces. Fresh bean sprouts, nice squishy noodles, and sriracha sauce at the table = big smile on my face. Also tried the fried spring rolls which were nice and crispy and tasty. Others in my group had war wonton soup, vietnamese pancake(stuffed with bean sprouts, prawn slices, and pork slices) and I can’t remember the 4th but it had rice and pork chops and egg. Everyone loved their meals and it came out quickly. Definitely will go again, only complaint would be I’d like to see some fresh fruit bubble tea, and if they delivered I’d be so stoked haha. But I would definitely go again, as everything I had there was really good and I didn’t get any stomach ache after. Yay Phở V. Ta — number 18 all the way :)

This is a relatively new Vietnamese restaurant, opening last fall. I absolutely live Vietnamese food and have eaten it everywhere I go. So we figured lets try out this new one. Four of us went in for dinner. The décor is plain, but new and very clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as to what they would make. You know the ones that aren’t, if it isn’t exactly a number X, they either won’t do it or charge lots extra. We all ordered different dishes, and all agreed it was the best Vietnamese food that we have had in Nanaimo. Pros: — very good quality food –excellent prices — very accommodating friendly owner — large orders — each month they have a free appetizer, we had spring rolls –great selection of sauces and oils –they use NOMSG on anything We definitely will make this our regular Vietnamese restaurant. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
