When I am in Ottawa, this place is typically my go to brunch place if I can’t find another place that interest me. I would say I prefer Tutti Frutti more than Cora’s. The menu has a good variety of choices to choose from. The pricing of their menu items, I believe to be fair and aligned with similar brunch places. The food quality is good. The servers are always friendly and polite, which I believe to be a very important component of a brunch place — a good start to your day to have a server that is friendly and polite. The seating is nice and spacious. You don’t feel like you are seating on top of each other, because some brunch places their seating are so closely set together to get more capacity in the restaurant, you feel cramped and uncomfortable. Tutti Frutti is nice and spacious, you don’t get the cramped in feeling. This is definitely one of my go to brunch places when I am in Ottawa.

Tutti Fruiti was pretty good. I am a fan. Tried it for breakfast. It is just off Clyde and Merivale. It is a little bit like Cora’s but I felt like it had a little bit more of homier feel to it, quaint, warm and welcoming. I liked it better than Cora’s and much much better than Denny’s. The service was very good and so was the food. The menu was plentiful and the prices reasonable. The coffee was also very good and our waitress ensured that our cups were always full. Overall I would recommend to a friend and go back for another breakfast.

As can be expected, very chainy. The waffles were delicious, but covered in butter and syrup I wouldn’t expect anything else. The sides of fruit were gigantic but tasted about average. I would prefer a smaller, independent place for the next trip, but it was a nice meal.

I was here for the first time, I can see why it is compared to Cora’s. I ordered the Blue Velvet breakfast, I did not like the blueberries in the pancakes but that is personal taste I don’t like blueberries in food. Overall it was a nice place for breakfast.

I am sure that Tutti Frutti will always be compared to Cora’s. Cora’s was in the Ottawa area first and therefore is better known, both restaurants serve breakfast and lunch and both restaurants try to present the same family-friendly atmosphere. Whatever the relationship between the restaurants may be, our experience at Tutti Frutti was much different. We were not rushed. Although we go to brunch early in the morning, we have always been rushed at Cora’s. It’s Sunday. It’s early. We’re still waking up. It’s not the time to be rushed. Rushed people become cranky people. The restaurant’s décor struck me. The walls were painted a warm yellow and the furniture is dark wooden brown. The minimal decorations on the wall gave a Mom and Pop/country feel. It was not kitschy and tacky and overwhelming. It was calm and welcoming. The service was excellent. Jayme seemed genuinely friendly and offered advice on the menu when needed(instead of the«I don’t know. It depends on what you like» that we always hear). I am glad that I ordered the Camembert Cheese and Mushrooms Eggs Benedict. The eggs were poached to perfection and the Hollandaise sauce/cheese/mushroom combination was pleasing. My only complaint(if you would call it a complaint) was that there was too much food on the plate. I could not finish the potatoes and the fresh fruit… Oh the fruit! There were two servings with strawberries, oranges, mellon, pink grapefruit and apple pieces. It is as though the chef knew just how much I love fruit. It was an excellent midday snack. If you are used to eating cheaper(cost-wise) Mom and Pop breakfasts, Tutti Frutti is expensive. However, if you are hungry, you will appreciate the amount of food that you get for the price. Also, instead of just eating greasy, you wil get 1 – 2 fruit servings in many platters. If you want less expensive food, they do have cheaper options(like eggs and bacon, just pancakes, etc). We will be returning.

Total disappointment after much anticipa… tion. First visit was so-so. Coffee sucked. Second visit: Arrived to find a restaurant full of screaming people. Not just kids, but adults trying to yell over the kids. What is wrong with parents who don’t teach their offspring that it’s impolite to grab other peoples food(that one got her hand grabbed and hauled back to her table with some not so nice words to Mom), or think it’s ok to let their kids scream and yell in a public place. Biscuits and gravy says they don’t let that happen at home! Anyway, harried staff, poor service, coffee that is now beyond being allowed to be called coffee, over priced, no wi-fi, weird décor, and overpriced. Ok maybe I said that twice. It is worth noting. The ONLY redeeming quality of this place is that they had raw sugar for your coffee and I didnt have to dig into my stash. And this«add onions to your homefries?». Is this common in Quebec, because the ONLY eatery’s I’ve ever been in that scammed this sort of thing are Quebec franchises.

My wife, son and I ate at Tutti Frutti this past weekend, and while the food was okay, I found it to be extremely expensive: $ 60 for three people including tax and tip… ouch! It all starts to add up especially when they charge extra for onions in the home fries… seriously, a buck for onions? All home fries should have onions in them by default. I guess I’m used to my small-town diner breakfasts that cost around 5 bucks a plate. The food here was fine, but the price ruined the whole experience. We won’t be back.

ok, decided to try Tutti Fruiti for breakfast in Ottawa just off Clyde and Merivale. I went to one in Montréal and it was on a Cora’s level of breakfast with the«fancy» fruit :) i ordered eggs benny and my girlfriend had blue berry crepes, service was fast(restaurant was quiet), food was out quickly — the hollandaise sauce was very nice, good consistancy, and not too heavy, poached eggs were perfect — the fruit was fairly fresh but looked like it was cute early in the morning and starting to dry out abit. The crepes were good but same fruit issue, overall i liked — but oddly the décor was the thing for us… not too bright and cheery for a breakfast place, dark wood etc. as opposed to Coras bright colours and all the fun cartoons animals etc all over the walls.
