2nd Wind Body Science is all about regaining that second wind that we all posses. I am Doug Setter, BSc. a 56 year old trainer with a background in anti-​ageing nutrition, Pilates, kick-​boxing (welter weight championship at age 40), strength training, marathon running and military skills.

History

Established in 2003.

In 1997, while helping fight the #Winnipeg Flood during the day, I designed and taught a cardio kick-​boxing routine. After the flood, I entered the University of Manitoba to study nutrition (at age 39). While still studying, I won a kick-​boxing championship (at age 40). Later, due to injuries, age and back pain, I became a qualified Pilates instructor. After graduating, I moved back to Vancouver and began teaching classes in Stomach Flattening and kick-​boxing and personal training, specializing in older adults.

Manager

I was born with a club foot and later developed bucked teeth and bronchial problems as a child. I struggled with chronic underweight as a teenager and had my share of bullying and beatings. After years of hit-​and-​miss, I was able to build my strength and skills to become a military paratrooper, run full marathons and compete in kick-​boxing and kung fu in Canada and Hong Kong. I designed my own cardio kick-​boxing and stomach flattening system while working and going to the University of Manitoba. During this time, I won a kick-​boxing championship (at age 40). After graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Nutrition), I became a qualified Pilates instructor. Then, I moved back to Vancouver, B.C. and continued to teach Stomach Flattening, kick-​boxing, military skills and personal training. I love seeing my clients get faster, stronger and more confident as they regain control of their health.
