Worst experience I have ever had with a surgeon.
Yes, the rest of the staff is nice but the surgeon is the one who is doing your surgery. Unfortunately, the doctor who had performed on my 8 relatives and friends who had great experiences had retired.
You are not given your surgeon till the day of and you might have the misfortune of getting Sanmugasunderam, otherwise known as Shan.
This surgeon snapped at me, gave me attitude, called me names, put his hands in my moms face and kicked me out on the day of my surgery. We left in complete shock.
This is the worst surgeon and I would not trust my eye sight to him. Not only did he not follow through with what I was promised in my consultations, but he gave me attitude and wouldnt listen to anything I was saying. He denied me ativan that the office, nurse, and technicians had promised me telling me that I’m not strong enough to do the surgery and if i can’t handle gory details then i don’t deserve the ativan. When i asked him to give me a couple minutes to breath (because he was being so rude and condescending before my procedure) he said I’ve already wasted so much of his time (it had only been 5 minutes), whats a few more minutes going to do. He told me that i don’t want the surgery and kept cutting me off to tell me i don’t want the surgery (on the day I had paid and reserved to have it done!). I told him i needed the time because what he is telling me (that I’m not strong and i can’t handle this and i don’t want this) is making me nervous so he snapped back that «i was crappy from the start». He put his hand an inch away from my moms face and waved to shoo her out of the room. I didn’t end up doing my surgery that day because he didn’t have the patience or care to waste 5 minutes being a normal human being– he wanted to google camera lenses on the office computer and make his thousands without disruption. Avoid him.

After considering laser eye surgery for YEARS, I finally went through with the procedure last week. I had no-​touch PRK done. My consultations leading up to my surgery were great. The doctors and assistants were beyond amazing. I was super stoked the weeks leading up to surgery but the day of, I was ridiculously nervous. I kept reading forums of things that could go wrong… yeah, I don’t recommend that. The procedure in itself was quick, painless and easy. I was in and out of London Eye Centre in an hour flat. The next 3 – 5 days were the most excruciatingly boring days of my life. The doctor told me that I would heal faster the longer my eyes were closed. Make sure you pre-​download a bunch of audiobooks and podcasts (Serial was my fav) beforehand. I was extremely uncomfortable during the healing process. My eyes watered so much to the point where they became swollen and almost sealed shut. They were dry, scratchy, and just plain uncomfortable. Oh yeah, and don’t accidentally poke yourself with the stupid eye dropper. it hurts, A LOT. It was frustrating trying to bathe while wearing sunglasses to prevent water from getting into your eye. Oh, and I got some awesome breakouts since I couldn’t properly wash my face for a week. Yup, pretty gross. Other then that, I recovered very quickly. The thing I appreciated the most about LEC was the aftercare. You book 3 appointments after surgery (day after, 3 days after, 5 days after). After a week, I was able to drive, go back to the gym and most importantly shower & wash my face properly! You have to continue with eyedrops and such and my eyes aren’t ²⁰⁄₂₀ yet. They’ve been pretty dry the last few days but I’m no longer in pain. Anyways, I’m so happy I got the procedure done, although I cannot rave 100% yet since my eyes are still correcting until they get to ²⁰⁄₂₀. I’m assuming that within a few weeks I’ll be able to see clearly. I highly recommend London Eye Centre in New West if you’re considering laser eye surgery!

Had my eyes (well eye) done there years ago and had excellent results. They advised me that I might be able to get the results I wanted by just getting my one eye done and it worked. Saved me tons of money. It’s not often that that happens.

Waited too long to actually have laser surgery.
Previously went to coal harbour for consultation, but I was more pressure to book surgery date than given explaination. Their $ 1500 for both eyes turn out I need to have tissue saving procedure which cost another $ 150 per eye plus the kit $ 200 total $ 2000.
I decided to have another consultation at London eye and totally different experience. London eye is more detail, explain procedure and things I haven’t thought of to ask which make me feel comfortable. They also explain their machine vs coal harbour, coal harbour required additional piece for procedure instead of London eye machine has been manufacture by laser company and has been upgrading/​improving that does not required additional piece, got sold right then. $ 3000 no tax and no other fee, but then they have promo knocking $ 500 off. Booked and had surgery on nov 13 at 6:30 pm came right after work. Had final check up and numbing eye drops surgery took few mins from laying on the bed and off. 30 sec for each eye. Went home and slept till morning.
Recommend to get sleeping pill to help u sleep after surgery since eyes will keep tearing and hut a bit…
Next day can’t really open eyes, went in for check up, everything normal.
3 days later start to see things better and doesn’t hurt, 1 week eyesight improved from 750 to about 300 compared to co worker, 2 weeks better than friend whose prescription about 100, still improving.
Best thing I ever done for myself… Keep waking up reaching for my glasses and realize I can see
Before my surgery at London eye, my co worker just did his at London eye 2 months ago, found out my best friend did it at London eye 11 years ago and has no problem till now and before she did it, 3 of her friends also did it, make me feel more comfortable.
No glasses yay… Really recommend London eye for who want to get rid of glasses or contact lenses. 16 years contact lense, no more wasting time wearing contacts…

I booked an appointment through their website and someone called me promptly to schedule a time which was actually the same day (great stuff). Upon arriving I kinda thought: hmmm the building looks a bit old, wonder if their equipment is old also… but that was quickly laid to rest upon entering the waiting area. I tried getting some change from the receptionist for the parking outside and as I asked the receptionist, a doctor (assumed to be a doc) overheard that I needed change and told me that they have tons of free parking but if I wanted change he had some… I offered to give him my paper bill and he refused… hmmm…ok ok its starting out pretty good… but lets see… I was asked to fill out a form and then proceeded for my numerous tests to see what my eyes were doing… I had LASIK done 10 years ago in San Diego but I felt I needed a touch up on my left eye as I really got used to ¹⁵⁄₂₀ vision and it appeared to be a bit worse now…
I then proceeded to see the eye doc and he did some more tests and basically told me that I was a candidate for a touch up but he felt I didn’t really need it at all as my vision in my left eye was ²⁰⁄₃₀ and my right at 15/20…Ok to my surprise I was like: What? you don’t want me to get a surgery? Are you serious? Coming from the states its like you sneeze and they want to operate… I was flabbergasted… I asked repeatedly if he was sure and he said Yes… just come back in a few years and we can see what you need… ok I asked if my eyes were healthy and he said let me do a further exam and confirmed my eye health to be great… Fantastic! I proceeded to the front to pay for my exam and they all told me it was complimentary!!! Are you kidding? I felt so guilty leaving the place… Upon driving home I thought about how this is exactly the feeling that all customers/​patients in this case… should feel about ALL businesses… feeling like you got Value Value Value… having said that I told my friend to go here and get her eyes checked up as she always wanted to get LASIK done… Long story short… I cannot emphasize enough how this is exactly the type of Business that should be given an award!!! Amazing Stuff…

I had my PRK surgery done a little bit over 2 months ago and I’m pretty happy with the results. Here are my experience listed in bullet format:
Pros:
–technician, nurses and the doctor were all very good. They know their stuff in and out and is patient when I was asking them questions. I like the fact that they provide the reasoning behind the answer (as compare to just a quick short one word answer). This helps my concerns about the procedure quite a bit.
Could Improve on:
— they didn’t really call me to confirm any appointments. Even on the day of the surgery I didn’t get a call the night before. They could improve on this aspect.

Well the surgery went very well! It was on-​time, professional, numbers were carefully reviewed by the surgeon before going under the laser, and they even offered me an Adivan when I arrived in order to make sure I stayed calm and relaxed.
I walked away with a pouch full of drops, including antibiotics and lubricant drops, and used them according to their instructions. This is currently day 6 of my post-​op and it’s been great so far.
Sine everyone heals differently, I won’t review the detailed healing process, but it has worked out very well for me so far.
No complaints. Highly recommended.

Great experience overall. Just wish I had done this sooner. I had the Intralase procedure which was well worth it. I didn’t experience pain and didn’t have to take any painkillers. More than pain, it was just discomfort that I went through. Although that didn’t last more than a few days.
In terms of my recovery with the Intralase, I was able to look into my computer the next day — although I didn’t want to strain my eyes so I gave it another 24 hours. I was also driving by that time too.
The service and support are top notch. I had one side that was over corrected, but I went in 8 months later for a correction and now I’m ²⁰⁄₂₀.

I worked in Vancouver, Canada for seven months in 2005 – 2006 and ran across an add for London Eye Palace for a seminar about their company and procedures. At first I was kind of turned off that it was a seminar but I think it was better because people may ask questions that you may forget to or did not think of. There was NO pressure at the seminar, just a presentation of their procedures, about their lasers and surgeons and then they answered questions. London Eye Palace has the latest technology lasers and works with the top companies in developing new lasers and trains and operates on surgeons around the world. I checked out a company back in the states on a trip back home and was much more impressed with London Eye Palace. I had the surgery there and if I had to do it all over again I would chose London Eye Palace, there where no weak links and everyone was professional from the bottom to the top. I am so happy with my decision
