History
Established in 1989.
In 1988, Douglas Leaney, a former fire-fighter, real estate salesman, jeweler, as well as an avid boater and his wife Helga went on a journey up the Fraser River towards Fort Langley. Doug and Helga were amazed at the history, the scenery and the variety of communities in the area. The Leaneys decided they needed to share this experience with others and showcase the history of the Fraser River.
Doug and Helga, established Paddlewheeler Riverboat Tours with a 40-passenger vessel in 1989. The company expanded into the 100-passenger stern-wheeler Native in 1991, which they run to this day.
In 2014, Paddlewheeler Riverboat Tours celebrated their 25th year of operation and in 2015 are offering more variety of cruises than ever before along with a 15% price reduction on most regularly scheduled cruises.
