I dont know this bakery, i went to westmister pier with friends to make a just for laught video overlooking the bridge… it was lunch time already and we were all hungry… we went inside this building to look for a place to eat and we found this Mexican restaurant… small place but there was aline up… we decided to try … Breads looks all delish, the cookies were freshly baked and very colorful, all latinas working that day all very friendly. decors are mexican inspired, wifi courtesy of the market but very slow and almost not working at all. We had some breads and we also tried all kinds of the soft tacos, beef, chicken, pulled pork, veggies plus rice and beans and i would say they all tasted great. very fresh authentic mexican dish. those turn over breads and donuts looks very good aswell but we had enough, we’ll try it next tme… Again another small place that offers BIG surprises…

Nosh and Nibble came here for a snack and I had a great taste of the following: Gluten Free Lemon Square(~$ 3) Mexican Concha(~$ 2.50) The Lemon Square. A timeless classic, no? This was a traditional American«bar cookie» that had the texture of a cake. It was similar to a brownie except chewier, perhaps due to the gluten free-ess. This was a little wet but it had a good bottom layer and I liked that the top wasn’t completely coated in powdered sugar. Rather it had a simple icing sugar that left plenty of gaps. The Mexican Concha was the highlight of this bakery trip. The concha, sometimes known as a pan de huevo, was a sweet bread with a fluffy inside and sugary crusted top. The carvings on top reminded me of a pineapple bun or carved mango. Overall this was a good sweet bun and was one of the more unique items found at this bakery. This didn’t change the baked goods game for me, but was worth a try. Even Breka doesn’t carry conchas.

I finally found challah(egg) bread in the ‘burbs! Their challah is very soft and sweet like but can still be eaten with savory foods or as is with a bit of butter for breakfast. I’ll definitely come back to this bakery to check out their other yummy offerings.

Great donuts. Large, tasty. Not dried out at all or too sweet. Only glazed and sugar but that’s okay. .95 cents each. Just as good as other donuts in the Vancouver area that are $ 3 each.

I just had two chicken tacos, but they are disgusting. all it is is a tortilla with this over cooked mess of chicken in tomato sauce. That’s it. And it took a ridiculous amount of time for them to dump this gross swill onto the tortillas for me too.

Don’t waste your money — the«veggie» tacos consist of a small handful of mushrooms. No greens, no veggies.

The tortilla soup is amazing! Very authentic and fresh tasting Mexican food with friendly service. Was also delighted to have a real spicy Mayan hot chocolate. Definitely recommend this place for any Mexican food cravings. Good quality.

I have a hard time deciding between 3* and 4*. In this case I always go there for light rye bread(hard to find in NW/Burnaby) and whole wheat bread. Specialty breads are surprising. Try rye and pumpkin seeds or the olive bread. Tried tacos and a spanish torta. Ok but not great. One time the baguette wasn’t crispy. Very nice people.

Excellent bread at very reasonable prices. Their chocolate croissants are probably the best I’ve had in Greater Vancouver. And the tacos are great as well, especially the cochinita marinated in sour orange.

Average bakery, does not accept American Express. I would purchase client treats when I go to weekly meetings, but they don’t accept the card so I go up the road to where they do. Mexican Food here is good, their baked goods are average. Breads are very good.

This Mexican family bakes good sh*t. I don’t recall a bakery like this in my Mexican travels, but I’m happy they’re here. I’ve tried a torta sandwich here once(soso), but their breads are where it’s at. I’ve tried their chorizo stuffed bread something and walnut rye bread(memory is hazy). Anyways, both were wicked. I’m not into sweets, but they looked equally delicious. Gracias amigos.

Wow! What a surprise this place was. I always check Unilocal before I test some places and reading about the Mexican dishes sold me! I was pleasantly surprised when the burrito was fantastic!!! I will definitely be back to try their breads and pastries because I just that weak when it comes to sweets :)!

This place came as a total surprise to me. I was playing tourist with a friend of mine down at the Market and we decided to find something tasty to eat. We both though Pamola just did breads and sweet baked good, but as we were walking by their extensive menu caught our attention. They’ve got a selection of Mexican and Spanish dishes to offer. We decided to gorge ourselves with some taco’s, a Spanish Torta and a quesadilla. All of it was wonderful. Almost everything is accompanied by freshly made salsa’s and guacamole and refried beans. It’s great to see all these wonderful new food selections coming to New West.

Dazzlingly good baked goods in a very European/North America tradition. Also a big Mexican food menu. Excellent tacos and tamales. The owners are from Mexico City, and have a good thing going here. I recommend one taco, one tamale, and one dessert item. YUM!

The River Market’s latest food opening is Pamola Bakery, and what can I say but wow? Along with shelves of fresh-baked goodies like cakes by the slice, lemon squares, and artisan breads, they also serve a menu of Mexican and Spanish dishes and combo plates. The owners are a family from Mexico. On a recent rainy Saturday, my friends and I stopped by for coffee and snacks. I had a Cubana torta, which was delicious in all its lightly toasted glory, and a slice of mocha cake topped with a chocolate-covered coffee bean. My friends had tortilla soup and quesadilla, which they also really enjoyed. The quesadilla looked quite small, but my friend of Spanish extraction said the tortilla soup was amazing(repeatedly). The best part for me was the fresh, evidently house-made salsa, guacamole and refried beans used in the torta sandwich. The service at the counter where we ordered the food was a little slow, but perhaps that’s because they are so new yet. With delicious Mexican food like this, plus all those treats on display, methinks they should get up to speed to handle the crowds that’ll surely come. I know I’ll be back … for tostadas, tacos, paella … cake … New West is gonna make me so fat.
