Rexall

This pharmacy is well laid out and very easy to shop. They have great specials here, as well as a nice grocery section that makes shopping for everything you need quick and easy. Picked up a few hidden gems in this location like a Spicy Rack priced cheaper than the larger chains. They also have a great selection of snacks, their «house brands» are very reasonable. Service was helpful and friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!.

There are other choices in the neighbourhood for snacks, pharmaceuticals and pretty-​up potions, but I like that this new Rexall is located a bit away of all that madness at 6^th and 6^th. In fact, it’s right on the 7^th Avenue Greenway and has a bike rack, so that’s super handy for me. There’s even a Modo car parked out back, why I don’t know, but it might come in handy one day.
I’ve been in a couple of times, since they’ve had some alluring grand-​opening specials. On one day, they had all kinds of snack samples laid out on the table inside the door. I must say, the house brand «Nosh» includes some tasty snacks, and snacks are a vital component of my life. As for beauty and health, you’ll mostly find the usual big-​name brands, but not a whole lot in the way of natural, organic or niche products, which I tend to try to buy.
There are two floors, so it’s not a small store, but the aisles are pretty narrow and it can feel cramped, which is a consideration in a neighbourhood that sees a fair number of scooters and suchlike.
We’ll see how things develop with this new player, but I say, go pillage them now while they’re still trying to please with sales and smileys.

Today is their Grand Opening.
Went at 8 am for coffee & cake with the Pharmacy Manager.
They had Tim Hortons coffee, a box of TimBits & a sheet cake with Rexall in green icing.
However, there was no one manning the table to cut & pass out the cake.
They have 2 floors. The 2^nd floor, accessed by the escalator/​elevator, is the pharmacy, greeting cards & medical assistance aids.
The ground level is the cosmetics & grocery section.
They have dairy products, organic, gluten-​free.
They have the Aeroplan program: 1 point for every dollar spent.
They are open M-​F 8 am to 9pm, Sat 9 – 9 pm, Sun 9−6pm.
As with any other store, we just shop the deals & come here when we need to add some activity to our Aeroplan account.
I hope they will be successful.

This review is for the retail part of the store only, as I did not use the pharmacy.
For such a competitive neighborhood, this store just doesn’t seem to offer much to entice me to shop here over the 2 Save Ons, London Drugs, Shoppers Drug Mart and Dollarama within a 2 block radius.
Price wise I found it to be average to above average, with most name brands being high and house brands coasting along the normal range.
Selection was a little weak, they had a large area dedicated to cosmetics, but things like grocery items and some pharmacy items were pretty bare bones basic.
The store itself is great, very modern and easy to shop. It was their first day open so I didn’t expect much in the way of customer service, but I wasn’t greeted or offered help by any of the employees while I was there.
Since they are brand new I will definitely stop by again, but I think Shoppers really has this market cornered for me with their variety, great prices and points.
**Update: Upon checking my receipt when I got home, I just realized that I was over charged for an item. Blargh.
