Chicken Ramen. Overall a good option when I don’t want to make my own at home. The chicken looked a bit odd but it was tasty. Made without msg, which I love! The noodles were nice and firm. I detest mushy noodles. The broth was pretty tasty. Not overly salty or bland. The corn was firm & sweet. The green onions were fresh. I’ll assume that the white & pink docs were rice cakes. Nice chewy texture from them. Great price at just under $ 9, for a large size bowl. I will be back to try out the sushi and other menu options. The staff were friendly & efficient, which always makes for a great takeout or dine in experience. I had take out about 3 weeks ago.

Good sushi for an affordable price. They have nice specials every day of the week they are open, so I like being able to save on my favorite nigiri on a particular day. They serve the more authentic Japanese sushi, like battera, or rolls with lots of veggies. No greasy«spicy sauce» at this place! It’s not the best fish I have ever had, but for the price, it is great.

I was in New West and wanted lunch; my mind wanted sushi. So a quick search led me here: a small and quiet, «hole in the wall» sushi place, just a couple of steps away from the busy Royal City Centre. I was quite surprised that it wasn’t attached to the mall but that’s a good thing. I ordered the negitoro roll, and two hamachi and saba nigiri pieces. When I saw that they had my favourite, saba, I immediately wanted it. Prices are similar to other inexpensive sushi places around Metro Vancouver. I also ordered a mini-sized kitsune udon on my second visit; tastes just like what I usually make at home, minus the additional spinach. The sushi chef(I’m assuming is the owner) and his compatriot waitresses are always very friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is similar to other hole-in-wall sushi places, like my favourite place in Richmond, Sakura Sushi. Oh and guess what? You also get free green tea! Yayy(lmao). One thing that stood out to me about this place is the odd choice of tropical-themed, straw chairs. I wager it’s living true with the«Paradise» in the name. Heh. Overall, another small, hole-in-the-wall sushi bar that never lets down.

I really like this place. It’s always gonna be where I get sushi around Westminster center. Their ramen is homey and simple(and of the shoyu variety) but perfectly delicious! Their fish is fresh and they have lovely daily specials on both nigiri and rolls. They’re very(very!) resonably priced! Self serve water and decent light green tea. Despite some other opinions in the reviews I think it’s a great place to dine in, sure the kitchen overlooks the dining area but the sun comes in through the widow and keeps me warm, and they leave you alone. Super cute place!

I have gone here for about 13 years ago. This was my sister and my hangout spot where we would order sushi and sip on unlimited Japanese green tea. The cute layout attracts a lot of people in. The owner is super nice! It has gone up in price recently and one downfall is that they DONT serve tempura. Who doesn’t serve tempura?!? Weird.

Nope. The average review places this place highly but I have to say that the food and the portion sizes are sub par. Very much cheap take out quality.

I come here quite often and have never been even slightly disappointed. We only ever get take out, so I can’t really comment on the dining in experience other than the place is small and quite casual. Service is always excellent, very polite and always very quick. Sushi and sashimi is always incredibly fresh, perfectly rolled and wonderfully presented. There had been some comments about the food being ‘abnormal’ or ‘odd’ in regards to some flavors or ingredients, but from what I have learned from people who have lived in Japan, the style here is much more traditional than Western style sushi. No heavy sauces or bizarro rolls. Just good quality, simplistic sushi. There are many sushi places in the neighborhood and we have had good and bad experiences with almost all of them. This place never disappoints. Whatever they’re doing at Sushi Paradise, they’re doing it right. I love this place and will be back time & time again.

I was excited to try this place having read all the wonderful reviews. gotta say I wasn’t really impressed. Price for my chicken teriyaki roll was 6 bucks compare to most other places which charge me 4. And overall my roll wasn’t that great, definitely had better! Don’t really plan on coming back.

What a random place to find such delicious sushi! I’ve been trying to find a solid sushi place in New West for years, and I finally found it. Now, it’s not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but it’s pretty good. The quality is there, the prices are great, and the people that work there are super nice. I got there just as they were closing(8pm) and they still let us place an order. I’ll never go to another sushi place in New West again.

When I don’t go to Sushiholic, I come here! Really good quality sushi, which is hard to find when the whole Vancouver area is flooded with cheap crap sushi joints on every corner. Everything at Sushi Paradise is extremely fresh and yummy. The place is really tiny though, so I try to come between lunch & dinner time so I can get a table. I have to say, they have one of the best veggie rolls I’ve ever had. PS — You have to order at the front counter

This place is good value for money and it’s about the best compliment I can think of. My friends and I shared a couple of their combo platter and nothing really stood out as being all that good. It was all pretty average. That being the said, the place is clean and the food is fresh. There isn’t a lot of room to sit so I suggest getting it to go. Next time I’m in I’ll give their daily special a try and see if that improves things.

I went here today for lunch and it was great! I had the lunch B special and I got sushi rolls, chicken rice bowl, miso soup and fish on rice. I lived in Japan for five years and my wife is Japanese and I’m telling you all this food is the real deal. The fish on rice sushi was succulent and kind of melted in my mouth. I was tempted to order more sushi just for fun but got out of there before I blew my lunch budget. The service is lovely while the owners are actually Japanese. That’s the exception rather than the rule in Metro Vancouver. Come one come all to Sushi Paradise for real Japanese food. Yum yum!

Just returned from our first meal at Sushi Paradise. In all honesty, it was pretty… meh. to me. Still, here’s the dets according to me: 1. This place is definitely, absolutely, without a doubt, a take-out place. It’s not that the spot is unsightly or anything, it’s simply that they don’t have the selection of beverages one might want, and it’s not an environment designed for a long, slow meal. 2. The sushi is «okay.» Nothing to write home about, and nothing stood out to make me return. I did get to try something I wouldn’t ordinarily — Saba — because of a language barrier. I guess salmon and saba sound similar? I also had something a little extra in my roll that wasn’t expected a green bean? Frankly, a little weird. 3. Both the miso and sunumono were atypical. Sunumono tastes like summer to me, normally. This one? Not particularly summery. It seemed to have soy sauce in it? Just not… my thing. Additionally, the miso was very dark and rather odd, but it grew on me as I finished it. I just don’t know what to say past that. It’s probably up someone’s alley. I can see how it might be someone’s favourite sushi spot… It’s just not mine.

This place is da’ bomb!!! The only unfortunate thing about it for me was that I discovered it only a month before moving away. :(Nonetheless I made the most of the time we had together. This is not a place to go to «dine» or to take a date to but for a quick lunch with colleagues or friends, even alone, it’s good. I often picked up food there and took it home to eat. The food is sooooooooooooo good!!! I sampled pretty much everything on their menu and there was nothing that didn’t please me. The portions are perfect and the prices are great!!! The staff are all very very nice as well. Bring cash to pay, and small bills at that. Once I had a $ 50 bill and they had a difficult time making change. Here is their website: Oh how I miss this place. :(Have some sushi there for me folks!!!

This is the best sushi is New Westminster, I can assure you. I have been getting takeout from this place for years and they never disappoint. The nigiri sushi is well proportioned and the fish is always fresh. They do a different special each day, so check their website. I’ve eaten at tons of sushi places, and many have similar offerings. However, Sushi Paradise makes a Spicy Tuna Roll that is totally unique. First, since the chef is Japanese, the word ‘spicy’ just means that there is the slightest hint of spicyness in the roll, but nothing overpowering to hide the great taste of the raw tuna. Second, there are little bits of tenkasu(tempura crumbs) in the roll that give it a hint of rich, crispy flavours. Third there is a small pickled bean in the roll to add a refreshing crunch. Seriously, this is well worth a try. The chef is from Osaka, so his battera(pressed sushi) is very good. If you like mackerel,(and you should because it so damn healthy for you) then this is really a good item. Recently, I finally got to stop by for lunch, that was what moved my review up to the full five stars. I had lunch special C, which is udon soup, dynamite roll and nigiri sushi, and salad. All three items were fabulous! It would take too much time to explain how awesome they were. The lunch special is well worth it, but only go on weekends or when it is not lunch time for the nearby high school. Supposedly kids flood the place and it’s hard to get a table. Any other time, this is the place for fantastic, unique sushi that is also reasonably priced.

A hole in a wall of the best variety. It’s Japanese owned and operated. The food is fresh, fantastic, innovative, and authentic. They do brown rice version for all of you healthy foodies, mini-rice bowls for non-sushi lovers, and best of all their tekka maki includes a crisp green bean for texture. Japanese food, especially sushi, is about proportions and texture. Bigger is not better. Sushi Paradise understands this. Next time you’re in New West check it out. They close early so make it an early dinner.
