Our optometrists at Gole Eyeworks, located in Newmarket and Arthur, have been providing eye care services to patients of all ages for over 25 years. Assessing your eyesight for new prescription glasses, sunglasses or contact lenses is but a small part of the overall eye care services we offer to our patients. Our comprehensive eye exams determine not only the best prescription for your lenses but also the overall health of your eyes.

Our lab uses the highest quality in brand name lenses such as Zeiss and Nikon and we have an extensive range of the latest designs in fashion eyewear to suit all tastes.

History

Established in 1990.

Gole Eyeworks and its doctors have been leaders in optical technology for 25 years. Our clinic is unique in that we offer medical grade technology for the detection of diseases like glaucoma and macular degeneration. Furthermore, RT 5100 eye testing equipment helps the doctors more accurately test their patients vision.

Our optometrists’ have been in the contact lens research field and develop specialty contact lenses, which are much appreciated by our patients. We also provide Low Vision devices for patients with macular degeneration and perceptual testing for children’s vision.

To help our patients find the perfect pair of eyeglasses, we have expanded our Optical Dispensary and glasses selection with a wide variety of glasses and sunglasses at affordable prices. Budget conscious patients have great choices in lenses and frames. We also carry name brand eyewear such as Fendi, Burberry, Coach, DKNY and Dolce & Gabbana, Maui Jim and Oakley to name a few.

Business Owner

Dr. Robert D. Gole graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Honours Bachelor of Science, Biology major in 1984. He furthered his studies at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and graduated in 1988. During his university years he was very active in undergraduate activities. He was a founding father of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Dr. Gole was also captain of the University of Waterloo warrior football team.

Dr. Gole completed an externship at the Federation of International Self Help (FISH) Clinic in Kingston, Jamaica. Interests were in contact lens research while at the University of Waterloo. While working at Gole Eyeworks Clinic, Dr. Gole has continued his interests in contact lens research for both contact lens solutions and new designs of contact lenses.

Dr. Gole has been on the forefront of innovation in eyecare. He was one to the first clinics to deliver the Ciba Night and Day contact lenses in North America. Furthermore, he was asked to attend the world unv
