Hampton Inn North of the Falls

Hampton Inn was very nice. I would say it was better then some of the higher rated hotels. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooms where clean and very comfortable. Pool and work out area was there for our use. Buffet style Breakfast was included. Staff were constantly adding more food and cleaning up. My daughter got the room on Groupon and it was well worth what she paid. Great birthday gift to spend down at the Falls with my daughter. I will go back again for sure.

Worse experience ever! I drove all the way down from Montréal; checked in around 8 PM, all I wanted was to sleep quietly (or at least with less noise), but the guest next door had a party that night. I called the lobby three times, also went down to the lobby two times trying to explain the situation. The manager gave them a final warning letter, but not even the letter was strong enough to prevent them from making noise (laughing out loud, talking really loud and hitting the wall). It was a nightmare. I am talking about about my own experience. Only stayed one night.

I stay at Hampton Inn all the time for work and LOVE them because they’re usually great. This one left a lot to be desired… first off the staff wasn’t overly pleasant when we were there and they didn’t acknowledge my status, but whatever. What annoyed me most is that the tried to charge us $ 15/​day for parking, but their website says it’s free, and when I mentioned it they didn’t argue, however it just seemed a little shady. As far as the hotel is concerned, it’s very old and certainly shows its age…
The room, while HUUUUUGE (channeling my inner Donald Trump), looked like my great grandma’s bedroom, and the hallways smelled of mildew, and the lobby was nothing to look at.
Overall, I wasn’t overly impressed, and I’d only stay back here if I was paying less than $ 50/​night…

This place is ok. Building is nice, free breakfast is good. The building is older and has been remodeled. Rooms are fine, bed is comfy, heat/​air works fine. The complaints I have are that the sink wouldn’t drain, and there was a hidden 15 dollar a day parking fee that was never mentioned on their website. I can understand the parking fee for the hotel’s that are on the falls, but this one isnt. The other thing that will prevent me from ever coming back here is that the walls were paper thin. I could literally hear everything the people next door to us were doing to the point it sounded like they were in our room. Do yourself a favor if coming to the area for niagara falls and pay the extra money and stay at a hotel on the falls, or something that is at least on Clifton hill. This hotel isn’t near anything and everywhere you need to go you need to park and parking is at least 8 dollars and up from there. I would recommend staying on the falls, parking your car and leaving it and just raking the WeGo bus everywhere.

This is one of the cleanest hotels I have been in. Breakfast was waffle, eggs, sausage, bagels, juices, coffee, cereals, donuts get the idea. The only issue was the entire floor was so sticky it made everyone shoes stick in all tiled surfaces. The rooms were big but no refrigerator but had ice and vending on every floor. The staff was very professional but one was not friendly but was professional. I’m not her friend so as long as she took care of us I was happy. It is not near the super busy downtown area which is good but only a couple driving minutes away which is good.
YOU MUST GO TO THE BUTTERFLY CONSERVATORY.
Yes I’m yelling. Thousands of Butterflies freely flying around inside. They will land on you. If not a fan you will still enjoy it. I thought it was the highlight of our trip. Its close by the hotel also. Left out of the driveway and a few miles on left. Best $ 15 dollars I have spent lately.

This hotel is great for a weekend stay. But it’s a little way away from the main attraction than the other hotel. The pool is only 4ft deep and its great for kids. Breakfast was great with the options they had out and was actually tasty.

I seek out Hampton Inns when traveling because I have had nearly all positive experiences with them. Obviously variances from one to another make it a slightly better or worse experience but overall always acceptable for money. This one is in the acceptable column. Rooms are mostly updated with some older fixtures. Good water temp and pressure for shower. Mattresses comfortable albeit slightly on softer size. Linens appeared and smelled clean. Pillows were sub par, small and easily flattened. TV channels were bare minimum. Vending machines offered soda alone. The most unsavory part was the breakfasts. Crowded for one, but food was incredibly lack luster. Powered eggs that ate like little sponges and orange yogurt that tastes like children’s aspirin. Waffle and muffins were good. Bagels tasteless. Fair fruit selection. Area itself was always needing cleaning and seemed sticky even when no one using it later on in evening. Lobby carpet needed shampooing badly and there was water in hallway and elevators continually from pool guests. Overall cleanliness sub par. I would stay again because room clean and acceptable level of comfort but would not count on a breakfast there. Staff were courteous and friendly.

The hotel is located off the beaten path in Niagara Falls. There isn’t much nearby except for a diner, Buddhist temple and a WeGo bus stop. The hotel is older and it shows, needs renovation. There is a musty smell that permeates through the building too.
The Falls are a 25 – 30 min walk from the hotel which may have been okay had it not been hot and humid. We were not impressed with the hotel.

Friendly staff, a little off the beaten path, but clean, quiet and comfortable. Reasonably priced. A short drive from downtown and the falls.

We reserved a room here on whim after deciding to make our drive a little earlier as we headed to Toronto. It was a great deal, costing less than $ 60, on
and a pretty nice hotel. Crystal, the manager on duty when we arrived, was accommodating and friendly. The morning breakfast was good and even included some goodies from Tim Horton’s.
This hotel is not in the thick of downtown but is close to the action and right along the water. If you are going to head to Niagara, this is a good value.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff. Upon check-​in the front desk lady provided us with some local places to eat and even gave us some coupons and a map to use. Close to everything — but far enough away to relax. Literally right across the street from the White Water Walk (great walk on a nice day!).
The room was okay — it seemed a bit out dated. The shower was TINY! …probably the smallest I’ve ever seen… that was annoying. We had an odd colored heart-​shaped hot tub… we didn’t use it but it seemed to leak the entire time we were there. The bed was very comfy and the AC worked perfectly. They have flat screen TV’s which was nice! The only other complaint I have is that the walls are paper-​thin. For the first night the floor was incredibly quiet… then we got some rather rowdy neighbors who would slam doors at all hours of the night and so we called the front desk who claimed they would send up security. They were back at it at 6am in the morning… and then again at 11pm the next night. we called security again and security took care of the problem…
The hallways were very very warm. as if the AC was not working in the halls… too hot to handle! The key cards weren’t working right the first night but the maintenance guy claimed it was our fault. but we were watching other neighbors do the same thing… oh well.
The biggest downfall — they don’t have mini-​fridges!!! but we noticed the strange looking hotel offered mini-​fridges for free!!! that bugged us. it meant we couldn’t take any food or snacks home. boo!
Also — $ 2 for a can of pepsi in the vending machine is a bit too much! bring your own drinks or visit a local 7-​eleven
Overall, it was a pleasant visit and comfy room… just a few complaints but a good place if you want to stay away from the craziness in downtown Niagara falls.

On a road trip to Toronto, this was the 3^rd Hampton Inn of the trip. Although it is not a new hotel, the room and bathroom are larger than the Hampton Inns where we stayed in the U.S., the beds were queens, not doubles, the A/​C was quieter, and the room was cleaner. Breakfast was ample and the breakfast area was clean and well attended. I requested a top-​floor room away from the elevator, so was not bothered by elevator noise. The hotel has free parking and is right next to a WEGO stop on the North/​South Green Line, so getting to attractions and dining was easy. Parking near the Falls is typically $ 10 – 15 with no In/​Out privileges. The WEGO stop is also the entrance to the White Water Walk, where we converted our prepaid Niagara Falls Adventure Pass (purchased through Expedia) to the WEGO pass and booked times for the Journey Behind the Falls and Niagara’s Fury, and got the tickets for Maid of the Mist. It made everything very simple. It’s also a short walk to Queens Street which has a few good restaurants off the tourist path. The hotel staff could use a little training in recommending local restaurants, but, luckily with the free internet, could use Unilocal

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel on a Thursday night in February, and we checked in after 10pm so things were very quiet. Parking was free which is unusual in Niagara Falls. Nice guy «Zeke?» at front desk checked us in and upgraded us to a room with a jacuzzi tub — a pink HEART-​shaped Jacuzzi tub no less. (The room also had a fireplace but we didn’t turn it on.) We grabbed some cookies and headed up to room on fifth (top) floor. After a long day of traveling we basically went straight to bed, in the always extremely comfortable Hampton Inn beds complete with a selection of soft and firm pillows to choose from.
In the morning I did notice what somewhat sounded like a large friendly monster with indigestion. This turned out to be the elevator. We were one of the closest rooms but I really wouldn’t say it disturbed us, although again the hotel seemed pretty empty so it wasn’t making that many trips. If you think this might bother you, ask for a room away from the elevator. No big deal. Our room was very large and clean.
The Hampton’s free breakfast was great. They had a large dining room with a TV and we sat along the window as it was sunny out. Great coffee, waffles, large selection of pastries, etc. Very nice and what we have come to expect from Hampton’s. Looking out the glass door from the buffet area was a shrub with lights on it where a large family of little winter wrens hung out. The nice woman who operated the buffet must have thrown out a muffin to them. It was sweet watching them have breakfast as we did. Oh! And they have a resident black Canadian squirrel who comes up and waits for breakfast there as well. Adorable!
This property is NORTH of the falls, up where the river bends and the whirlpool ride is. Granted there was no traffic in February, but I did not find it to be too far or THAT far away; it was too cold to walk anywhere anyway. Plus, the other Hampton is in the old touristy part of town across from a water park. That might be great for travelers with kids, but we were very happy with our location. I would definitely recommend this property!

Stayed here for 2 nights in June 2009. The elevator made an annoying sound all weekend. Also ran into several large groups of young little league players who liked to play in the elevators (esp. in the late evening). Breakfast was adequate but not refilled often and the rooms were too overcrowded. Rooms were clean. One guest had trouble with the casino shuttle driver’s attitude so we didn’t bother to try to use the shuttle.
