Wanted to love this place based on all the good reviews… but it was just ok. Went early evening and there were only 2 other people sitting at the bar. Female bartender not very welcoming for having so few customers. Went for the pizza which the flavor was good but pepperoni burnt. Had a few good craft beers and played a game of free pool. Female bartender left and a guy took over who had a much better personality and was friendly. All in all worth another try.

Big fan of the pizza and wings here. The wings are saucy and delicious. The pizza has a crispy thin crust, delicious tomato sauce, and very cheesy and meaty deliciousness. I also had their chips and dip but wouldn’t recommend them as they don’t give enough dipping sauce. Otherwise it’s a pretty regular bar at the top of Clifton Hill. Definitely a great choice for bar food.

Nice little spot for such a tourist area! It is bar food but it taste decent for the cost and the service was attentive. If your looking for wings, pizza and burgers at a fair price this is it.

Yankee cheese steak sandwich, the best sandwich ever tasted! Not greasy, everything is just perfect — the bread, the steak, even the lettuce makes the sandwich so fresh. Local beer Sleeman is great! Definitely will come back again when I visit Niagara next time.

This place was mediocre and a little overpriced for what it was. We waited about 30 – 40 minutes for our food to come out and all we ordered was one pizza. Also, the cost of $ 2.50 per a pizza topping or $ 3.50 for a «supreme topping» is way too much. I understand that this restaurant is located right on the tourist strip and the costs are a bit higher, but the food quality was just okay. We got the Dickie pizza which is a white sauce based pizza with caramelized onions, red peppers and steak pieces and my first impression was it was a good looking pizza. But the moment we picked it up, it was very oily, grease seeping through every corner kind of oily, yet the crust was crispy. I’m talking about so crispy you’re hurting yourself from trying to eat it. From this experience, I would say they’re probably better places on the strip for food, but I’d probably say ordering a pizza from pizza pizza or dominos might be a better deal than Yank’s pizza.

Unilocal guided us to this glorious treasure and am I ever glad that it did! It’s slightly off the beaten path of chain after chain and all the touristy traps, but not so far that you’d miss it. It’s definitely a bar, there’s no mistaking that, and when we entered there were only a few groups of people, but seeing their food made us take a seat. We managed to get a seat by the open window which was perfect with the weather and for people watching. Now, the best part. That pizza and those wings! We got a pound of mild wings which were perfect! Large in size, meaty, perfectly cooked and the right amount of sauce and flavour. The pizza? Beautiful thin crust, which we got with pepperoni, mushrooms and bacon. Amazing! So fresh and also perfectly cooked. The server informed us that this location is the oldest bar in Niagara Falls — over 100 years old! The actual restaurant having been there for 20. Kind of a neat factoid to take away. This place is so good I would gladly drive the 45 minutes to visit it if I was craving damn good pizza and wings! Why can’t this be more local?!

Pizza was good and the beer was cold what else could you ask for? Most importantly it was not full of tourists, even though it’s at top of the main Clifton hill tourist attractions. I. came here two years ago and liked it for that reason.

When we walked in at 8 or 9 P.M. the place was empty. We sat down and thought about leaving due to the strange vibe in the beginning, but we decided to stay because we read good reviews on here and it turned out to be the right move. the Mexican cheesecake nachos were amazing and are unique. The pizza was good and there was one waiter/bartender the whole time who took great care of us and all of the customers who showed up after us. He handled the whole place even after it filled up. He hustled to the bar and to the kitchen, which was downstairs, and still made time for clearing tables and replenishing drinks. Overall it was a very good experience and I recommend it for people trying to get away from the crowds and tourist traps.

Amazing experience. Went at approximately 8pm and it was not crowded at all. Service was great and food was as well. I had steak sandwich that was huge as well as delicious. Wife had burger and she was pleased as well. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommended/great atmosphere!!!

Food is great, but service is on the slow side. The Canadian Club taste so good. So are the wings. And the portion of the poutine is HUGE.

Seeked out this bar after seeing the ratings on Unilocal. Were quite surprised to be greeted by an empty restaurant, but then it was a weekday afternoon. Ordered the Mexican Cheesecake… sounded funny enough to take the risk. The kitchen was probably not expecting any orders at this time, and it took really really long for food to arrive. Food arrived just before our patience was about to run out, but the dish redeemed itself. The baked cheese dip, was amazing and piping hot. It was still bubbling when it arrived. We asked for the hot version. There were jalapeño slices on top, dices of some pickles and peppers in the dip, and a strong taste of lousiana hot sauce(can’t say whether it was that, but definitely tasted like it). The combination of flavours was excellent. They were generous with the cheese as well. Besides the cheese on top of the dip, there was a delicious layer of goat cheese on the bottom. Overall an excellent preparations, much tastier than the chips and dips that almost every other bar serves these days. The restaurant is a short walk from the tourist heavy area, so you get a nice break from the craziness as well.

I should have known what I was getting myself into when I went to a summer tourist trap in the middle of the winter, but I think I set my hopes a little too high for this trip to Niagara Falls. We were looking for a decent place to eat that had good food without the tourist prices, and found Yanks a little over a mile from the hotel. The place was empty when we got there and looked like my type of place; a typical sports bar with a bit of a run down feel. We took seats at the bar and were greeted by a very friendly bartender who took care of us while we were there. We started with an order of nachos which for me were a disappointment. All of the ingredients just tasted cheap. I wasn’t a huge fan of the«cake» style dip and would have rather had a traditional pile of melty cheesy goodness. For dinner I had the grilled chicken sandwich with lemon seasoning and it was about as meh as the nachos. Overall, I think it’s unlikely I would return to Yanks the next time I’m in town(assuming there is a next time). The service was friendly and the beer was good, but other than that it served the low quality, over priced food you’d expect to find in a run-down tourist area.

I Love Love Love this store, which reminds me of wild Wild West. Even though the service is kinda slow. The Poutine is holy grail for only CAD $ 8, which mean you get get a 25% off if you are using USD. Besides, I strongly recommend the Yank’s Canadian club, which is perfect! Two loaf of smoked pork with cheddar, that was to die for. Buffalo wings is also a hit. If they have 10 stars, I will give them.

My friends and I hadn’t been here in about ten years, but we always remembered having good times whilst swilling beers and shooting pool. This time around, however, I was armed with a bit more level-headedness than in those days — not to mention a few more years of life experience under my belt. That said, I made a quick trip down memory lane by walking in, and this time, sat down for a quick bite to eat. My juicy Big Ethel burger didn’t last long enough for me to get a photo, but that should tell you something about how tasty it was. Washed down with a Molson Export, the burger’s flavor was just what the doctor ordered. Based on this quick meal and my prior ventures here, Yanks is a spot that shouldn’t be missed if you’re looking for some suds or a quick bite.

We stopped by for a beer and to check out the menu, but didn’t end up eating here, so I don’t have any impressions of the food. As an American, I do appreciate that Canada was still serving decent sized glasses of beer rather than the shrunken«pint» glasses that bars in the U.S. have gone to. The space had a solid casual pub feel and service at the bar was good.

Atmosphere is a Sports Bar with scattered couples drinking, slightly off the Clifton Hills strip. Service is a bit slow and possibly slurry, but not offensive. Seems like more a place for locals as opposed to a tourist attraction. People of visible minorities, don’t feel intimidated! At first, I wasn’t sure of this place, so we walked out, looked quickly through my Unilocal app, then walked back in. My group was really hungry and it was either this place, a mediocre-yet-expensive Italian place next-door, on down the hill to a bunch of chainy tourist trap joints. Food did take a while to roll out, but it was SOLID. Sure, you won’t find any gourmet fare here, but salad, poutine(w/real cheese curds), & pizza were all good. Would definitely check this place out again if I am forced to do the tourist thing again in this area!

Great pub food at a reasonable price. What can make it better… free pool. I enjoyed the New York style pizza, Mexican cheesecake, and steak poutine. Wings were so-so. The meat was quite dry. Probably one of the better non-chain restaurants in the area.

I’m split on this place. After doing a bit of research on places to eat this came up as a solid option. Well it was just okay, but prices very reasonably for food. Got the kids meal chicken fingers, poutine and a burger. The burger was way over cooked and not that good but edible. Poutine which I rarely eat was super salty but I liked that. The server was an older woman and got real overwhelmed where we had to go up to the bar and ask her for stuff after 3 other families larger than us trickled in at the same time. We were able to sneak out of there with a small bill cause all we had were waters, no beer or soda so the biggest plus it had was a low cost. More of a dive bar than anything but def not a tourist trap. Next time in town we’ll try a different option. 4 stars is a bit of an inflated rating.

–really excited to eat here because of the Unilocal reviews. –really disappointed by the highly praised mexican cheesecake due to its disproportionate cheese dip/tortilla chip ratio. It tasted great though, it’s just not for the greedy. — not really impressed by the poutine, but I appreciated the portion size. –my boyfriend liked the cheese steak but all I could taste was, meh.

Good place in Niagara to have dinner! Because it opens after 4p. m… The atmosphere in the restaurant was so casual and relaxed and there is a billiard table inside for people to enjoy. Nice staff provided us tasty meals and made our last hour in Niagara memorable. We ordered the signature steak sandwich and buffalo chicken wings. The sandwich looked as normal as others but actually it was full of meat and one person cannot eat it all at one time. The buffalo chicken tasted very authentic and tender. We all enjoyed very much. Also, the price was very reasonable. You should try it while visiting Niagara Falls.
