I came to this location when visiting Niagara-on-the-lake. The employees were really knowledgeable about the products they were selling. I asked the chocolatier what I could purchase that was both lactose and gluten free. She told me a few suggestions and mentioned that there could be cross contamination since the product is shipped in the same box as the dairy products and they are made in the same factory. I thanked her for telling me and told her that I think I would be okay. I ordered the dark chocolate ginger cluster. It tasted really good! Unfortunately it had traces of dairy because I began to experience some digestion issues shortly after consumption. If you are lactose intolerant and really sensitive to dairy, I wouldn’t recommend any of their chocolate as you will probably experience discomfort after. If you have no intolerances, all of their desserts are really good!

I was craving chocolate all day and when I seen RMCF, I didn’t think twice. I walked in and it was busy. The staff was friendly and were givng out samples but I already new what I wanted but how can you refuse chocolate? So I happened to sample their assortment of Fudge and their Rocky Pop. Then I was torn apart between the fudge or candy apple… and I made my life easier and got both. I got the Semi sweet double chocolate fudge and the Cheesecake apple and Rocky road apple. I ended up finishing half of the fudge and the whole cheesecake apple, let me tell you… that wasn’t a smart thing to do. I felt like I was on cocoa crack. The rest of the day I was wired and when it was time to sleep at the hotel, I was tossing and turning. I eventually got up and walked across the street to Casino niagara and played Baccarat until 5 am. Never again am I going to OD on chocolate. yea right ;)

They are really hit or miss with the chocolate here. I am a chocolate connoisseur and they only peak my taste buds with the pretzel chocolate and caramel apples. The rest is just as good as store bought but a lot more expensive. Staff also seems to be hit or miss. One girl was very helpful, the other looked like she was going to kill someone in about 10 minutes.

4 ½ STAR sweet tooth?! then avoid this place! lol you will start off just looking around with a hint of saliva, then you might get a few samples, then you get a bit of this and that and you end up leaving with two big bags of fresh made chocolate of different varieties. awesome place
