Came to Cecil’s while traveling through North Bay, Ontario. Was looking a dive to watch the 1stNFL Football game of the season and stumbled upon Cecil’s. Its a nice place, good amount of seating. Service: They brew I believe 4 or 5 of their own brews. I tried 3 and they were solid. The service was good, wait staff = friendly. They even put the audio on for the game. Food: Ordered chicken fajitas. They were ABSOLUTELY delicious! No way I wouldn’t re-order that if I went again. They were the best I can remember eating.

A great place to meet up with friends. I come here on a monthly basis. I have tried many of the items from the menu. The food is aways great! It may not be well know, or, it’s North Bay’s best kept secrete, but these are some of the best wings in town. double dusted with hot on the side. Mmmmm! Burgers, again, very tasty, and many options available. Ultimate cheese burger is my burger of choice. If you’re into beers, this place has 25 selections on tap.

I actually wish they had more beer choices. The beer bible? Yaa not so much… how about a Crabbies ginger beer? They do make a decent whiskey sour and the live music is a fun change of pace. Super loud but i enjoy that once in a while, food is alright

The purpose of our visit was to go and listen to a friend’s band, we went early to get some dinner and it could have been any other restaurant that serves almost everything deep fried. The band was awesome, the servers were great, however because it is connected to the Zoo(?) about half way through the night the young ones spilled over from the club and we felt very much out of place, we couldn’t get out of there fast enough, gee could it be because I am getting too old for this? LOL nawww

Okay I admit it is incredible to be handed the bible of beers when you sit down at this place for a meal but it also makes it extremely difficult to settle on one decision. Cecil’s is a good place. But if you keep up with my reviews I’m the type of person who prefers a quieter venue for my social outings and Cecil’s is just f’ing loud. That’s not to mention the crowd who consist of semi-retarded north bay drop-outs and cougars trying to prey on them. But that’s generally the crowd at most of the North Bay bars so theres really no way to escape it. The service has alway been the best I’ve ever gotten in North Bay. There is one gentleman in particular who is probably the most pleasant waiter I’ve ever encountered. On another note, they obviously hire bartenders who expect to do nothing more than open a bottle of beer or tap a keg because the mixed drinks they give are the worst I’ve ever encountered. The surroundings them self are nothing more than your typical pub(which is how I like it, so long as it is clean, which Cecil’s passes on my cleanliness acceptability scale). All in all probably one of the best bars in the bay if you want live music and solely beer. Spending time with the crowd might have you feeling dumb by the time you leave but that fun sometimes. My impartial«okay» that I reviewed this place is based on the excessively loud music and the atrocious drinks they mix. Note: there is one guy who frequently plays in this place who is really good. Very mellow acoustic artist that sets an awesome atmosphere.
