Bodwell High School was founded in 1991 in the City of Vancouver and is a non-​denominational, co-​educational day and boarding school, offering grades 8 to 12 and university preparation. In September, 2005, the school moved into its new facility on Harbourside Drive in North Vancouver, overlooking Burrard Inlet and the Vancouver harbour. Bodwell’s purpose is to «provide a culturally diverse environment for students from around the globe, and enable them to become active learners and well-​rounded citizens who contribute positively to the world.»

As global citizens, young people come to Bodwell from all over the world. By living and studying together, students learn about the many differences that make each society distinct. As of Winter 2013 Semester, Bodwell welcomed students from 35 countries.

1991 – 2003: Vancouver Campus —

In September 1991, Bodwell High School embarked on its journey to educate students from around the globe. There were only six students in the first semester. The original campus was located on West 12^th Avenue in the City of Vancouver. In four years, enrolment grew to 250 representing a dozen countries, mostly Asian. With quite modest school’s facilities, Bodwell’s wealth was in the school community, aspiring students and dedicated faculty.

2003-​Present: North Vancouver Campus —

The new facilities, including a full-​size gym, an indoor swimming pool, and a high-​ceiling cafeteria, allowed a capacity of 400 students and 150 boarders. At this time, under the leadership of Mr. Stephen Smith as Principal, the school adopted its current House System, Student Parliament, and student uniform, and changed its team name to the ‘Bodwell Bruins’.
