History

Established in 1997.

For fifteen years Couch Potato, the Sofa Co. has been an independent family owned business. Now operated by the Morrison family with their experienced staff Joanne, Judy, Rita, and Greg who have a combined experience of more than fifty years in helping folks choose the right furniture.

Couch Potato was originally started in 1997 by the Rasmussens who streamlined a method for choosing your upholstery style, comfort and fabric to suit your needs and wants.

November 2009 when the Rasmussens wanted to retire, the Morrisons recognized that customers were comfortable with their choices at Couch Potato so they grabbed the opportunity to keep on helping in the same way.

We all work together to provide the best service we know how, offering you a reliable locally made product, so that you can feel great about your choice at Couch Potato, the Sofa Co.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

With more than 25 years experience in the furniture industry Joanne is still enthusiastic about helping you get the the style and comfort that suits you and your room. She says, «We all deserve to be comforted by the look and feel of our surroundings.»

Joanne was first intrigued by the furniture business as a young teen of 15. Not every kid goes to furniture stores for fun! Joanne read decorating magazines, then studied decorating courses and gained practical experience selling flooring, then furniture at Eaton’s and Wosk Furniture.

Owning her own Couch Potato store in North Vancouver is a continuation of the adventure. Joanne and her staff have a personal approach which has earned them the title of «The store that Friends tell Friends about.»
