Let me just start this review by saying how much I hate shoes. Like I really hate shoes, if I could go barefoot everywhere I would! I was told by a specialist that I have mostly flat feet and received a list of shoes that I should look into getting if I wasn’t going to invest in orthotics — which I REALLY didn’t want to do. I called the running room and spoke to Julie who asked me a few questions and told me to bring in my old running shoes(the evil ones that really hurt my feet that I refuse to wear!). I went into the store and was helped by Sven(I think that was his name!) He was great!!! He asked me a few questions about my old shoes and what I didn’t like and looked over the list that I brought that I had received from the specialist and proceeded to get me to try on a few different pairs. After each one he asked me what I did or didn’t like about them. After trying on only 5 pairs(which is a record for me) we found the perfect shoe! I couldn’t believe I could actually wear a running shoe that would give me the support I needed but also be incredibly comfortable! I ended up buying guy shoes instead of girl shoes because they gave me the width in the heel that I needed. I wish there were more shoes for woman that could accommodate the width of my heel just so that I could get some colours that are a bit more fun! The only thing about this location is the area to try shoes on was a bit tight because there were quite a number of boxes on the bench and with two people sitting on it there wasn’t much room to breath. Maybe just putting the boxes on the floor or into the back quicker would have helped a bit, but it wasn’t too big a deal. I’m really thrilled and excited about my new purchase and can’t wait to start running in them!

Walked in with my husband just to browse and see if they had a running club to join while we were in town. Julie the manager was incredibly friendly and informative. Their running club meets on Wednesdays at 6:30pm & Sundays at 8:30am. We joined their 10K running group on Wednesday and met some fun and inviting runners. It was a great way of getting a run in without getting lost and getting a local’s perspective on the area. Will definitely run through Edwards Garden on our next trip back. You can apparently run the the Toronto Botanical Garden all the way into downtown. After the run, we were offered energy bars and juice boxes to refuel along with a 25% off coupon to do some damage at the store. They also sell their own merchandise of rolling foams, socks, and other running gear. Was very impressed with their large selection of gels, candies, and other energy supplements.
