Student Pizza & Curry Inc

We ordered a bunch of stuff. The pricing was higher than on the menu and they didn’t have XL sizes. We got our food delivered but afterwards noticed they didn’t have the 2L pop we ordered. Called the delivery guy and he said what we payed did not include pop. I asked him what each item was priced so I could add it up. He said he’d call back in 9 minutes. Called back said he was sorry. Brought the 2L pop and a pop can. Noice.
TL;DR decent food; delivery questionable

Tried it for the first time today. I was a bit put off by the name so avoided it before. Things i tried:
mutter paneer ⁸⁄₁₀ — Ordered this on the recommendation of the person i spoke to. Im generally a big meat eater but decided to try this any way and enjoyed it.
chicken biryani ⁷⁄₁₀ — Could use a bit more flavour, perhaps if they sent some onions it would be better (they did send raita). It came with bone in chicken which is how i prefer biryani to be.
butter chicken ¹⁰⁄₁₀ — By far the best butter chicken in the area. Top marks for this one
I called these guys directly for delivery instead of just-​eat. I do this for smaller places as i find it comes up cheaper. Spoke to a man i believe was the owner (jay) over the phone very polite and friendly guy. Delivery took about 30 mins. He came himself and called me 5 mins prior to let me know he would be here shortly. Total for all 3 dishes + tax and delivery came to $ 23. Very reasonable. Portions were great.
I would have tried this place ages ago if it wasnt for the strange name. This will be my go to desi place for this area.

Came back to try the Indian food and was really disappointed. I chose to go vegetarian partly because of price and I just wanted to try it. The options for vegetarians are all verrrry similar and I felt like the food lacked flavour and had been sitting too long. I was disappointed as I would have enjoyed having Indian food close by but the quality was really lacking. I don’t plan to return.

There must have been some misunderstanding at the cash last time. I remember paying less for the meal I got last time & getting 2 pieces of naan instead of 1. The business owner, a very nice man who was handling the cash last night, helped clarify the deal for me: $ 7.99 + tax for veggie platter with the choice of 1 naan OR two roti (to add any meat it’s $ 8.50). There must have been a mix-​up before & maybe I got an extra naan on the house…
For now, I’m not too pleased with the quality, the quantity & the preparation of the veggie platter I bought yesterday (tasteless, not fresh, less food). I’m also not pleased with constantly being asked to pay extra for everything (buy a samosa, pay extra for chutney. buy a pizza slice, pay extra for sauce). Some prices I consider a bit too high relative to what is being offered ($ 3.25 + tax for a pepperoni pizza slice plus you have to pay extra for dip, $ 8.99 + tax walk-​in «special?» is not exactly a great deal for a large pizza with only ONE topping — 3 months ago it was $ 7.99

There are other small things that have irritated me too like not keeping their fridge stocked with cold pop, in which place, you need to either cancel, choose something different or wait for them to go in the back & grab you a warm can. It’s a tiny inconvenience but it still adds up over time. When there’s other businesses around the corner that offer Indian cuisine and fast food, it’s not in your best interest to inconvenience your patrons. When I finally go back to try the Indian food options I’ll make sure to go during the day when things are fresher & also request to make the onions in the salad smaller or leave them out.
P. S. Sorry for all these #firstworldproblems but a review is a review. Hoping they can work on these things in order to provide a better overall customer experience.

New place on the block! Tried only the indian food and it was amazing. Tasted so fresh and delicious. They make fresh rotis which is absolutely amazing. Great prices… Must try!
