History

Established in 1994.

Ledgers was conceptualized by a team of Chartered Accountants from Sydney Nova Scotia in 1994 when the need for consistent, professional and affordable accounting services was recognized. After a preliminary investigation, it was realized that the small business market in Canada could not afford the services available from CA’s and the larger firms, while the services from the local ‘bookkeeper’ were not adequate.

With this in mind, the team spent the next 2 years developing the Ledgers Model. In April 1997, the first Franchise was awarded to Terry Bachmann of Moncton. Today, there are more than 50 Ledgers Franchises across Canada, including CA’s, CGA’s, CMA’s and more; we have also recently introduced Ledgers in the United States.

Ledgers Oshawa opened its door in March 2014.
