Yummy pizza buns and butter tarts. The people here are also very nice. Would recommend.

They have a seriously amazing vegan pizza. I get it without olives because I am not really a fan, but oh man that is one good pizza.

Kind of pricey, and the owner seems like a monster(not surprised there’s a semi-permanent help wanted sign). It’s not the best bakery in the city, but there’s a good enough selection you’ll find something you like.

The most massive and delicious chocolate chip cookies live here. You must go. Other amazing things: Feta Cheese Borekas. Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches. Chocolate Croissants. Pizza. Potato sandwiches. And the list goes on and on… An Ottawa must try!

I really wanted to enjoy this bakery! My friend loves coming to this place during her lunch hour and advised me to visit before I left the city. I’m hoping I came on an off day because the pizza was not good at all. I opted for plain cheese and it was a thin crust which I usually like, but the cheese was dripping with oil and was overall a very soggy slice. Not recommended. I also purchased a butter tart and black bean roll since they looked nice. The butter tart was a tad disappointing since I generally like gooey centres, but the crust was good. The black bean roll was also equally as nice. Overall, the butter tart and black bean roll saved this review from being any lower.

This is your classic quality over quantity. Baked good we had werr very good but not life altering. I must admit the chocolate chip cookie did not live up to its title, i have had better. I am a purist though. Vegan cookie was awesome. As for price, you get what you pay for but i still find it a little too steep

Bread & Sons Bakery — Home to my absolute most favourite chocolate chip cookie in the world. THEPERFECTCHOCOLATECHIPCOOKIE — this is one sup’ed up chocolate chip cookie. It has a slight crunch on the outside, yet it is still soft. Instead of chocolate chips, it actually has chocolate DISCS(I believe the brand is Callebaut chocolate). What distinguishes this cookie from others are the little pieces of candied orange zest, what a delight! I also like their breakfast raspberry muffin, black bean rolls, their loaf bread is amazing! Everything is amazing. Prices are a bit higher than the usual bakery(hence minus one star), but everything is top quality. The buttery, sugar, chocolate, carb goodness makes this a very dangerous place for downtown workers.

Great to have an all organic café in the city! We had pizzas and a macchiato. It all tasted really good!!! The coffee is from Vancouver’s Parallel 49 roasters. Delish!!! The interior is very rustic and organic looking. Casual and relaxing with retro chairs. We felt comfy and cozy there. I’d definitely go back next time when I’m back in town…

Came here for the butter tarts and was not disappointed! I bought 5(could have eaten them all, but I did share them with my mom) for $ 20. They were a bit smaller than I had expected, but totally worth it. I went when they opened at 6:45am, sharp; this meant that the tarts were still hot. My poor mom said these tarts are even better than what had previously been her favourite butter tarts. which are sold closer to home at a gas station in Upsala, ON. Now she’ll have to live on knowing the best butter tarts in the province are a 22-hour drive away. Just know that they’re closed on Sundays and don’t have much in the way of seating. No one seems to really hang around at the couple of tables that are there, though.

Based on all the great reviews and steady flow of people in and out I had high hopes… sad to say the muffin was dry yet oily at the same time and lacked flavor along with any hint of sweetness.

Nice place with friendly staffs. The bread, cookies and rolls are all freshly baked. The carrot cake was not too sweet, really love it~ The price is reasonable. And the bakery also served pizza at lunch time~ So good. The location is near the parliament building, highly recommend to go visit after having a muffin and a cup of coffee.

The location was close to the place I am staying at. When we got inside, there were only a few muffins left and croissants. We were extremely disappointed because we thought we’d be able to grab a slice of pizza but they don’t sell pizza on sundays. My boyfriend ended up getting a pumpkin muffin which he thought was okay.

They sell my preferred brand of Canadian roasted coffee here!!! (well, tied for 1st). 49th Parallel has some pretty good offerings. The thin crust pizza here is great, and usually there are over FIVE options, and that’s when the place has been picked over(sometimes 8 or more pies to grab a slice from). They also make good lattes/cappuccinos here. Only downside is they close down the machine around 3, or by 4. It’s too bad since after work I sometimes get a snack here and can use a SOLID cappuccino. Then again, it is a bakery. And yes it is that much better than other chain coffee shops that I will walk to Bread N Sons. disclaimer: I have not tried there drip, or their bread.

ARGH. I was so stoked to try this pizza, as I am stoked to try virtually any pizza, but life is unfair and I ended up here on a Sunday, where I promptly learned they do NOT serve pizza on Sundays. When I recovered from this devastating blow, I was informed that my savoury options were amongst 3 kinds of cheese paninis($ 8). «That’ll do, pig,» I thought to myself, and ordered the potato and caperberry. I watched them make the sandwich on their little panini press. It was reeeeally tasty, but on the pricy side for a small grilled cheese. I expected it to be much bigger. It came with a dentist’s cup of purple slaw and a small pickle — maybe a generous serving of sides would have softened the blow. Delicious, though. BUTPIZZA! I have to come back to Ottawa on a weekday.

My first visit to this little place — it has a very local, trendy, delicious vibe to it. I already had lunch so I went in to feed my sweet tooth with a homemade treat. I gasped aloud when I saw them… the butter tart — I’m a huge sucker for a butter tart — but a home made one to boot — I had to try. I first noticed that the crust was not a traditional butter pastry but more of a puff pastry, it was delicious but the amount of pastry overpowered the lovely filling, I think if BSB can make the filling the star of the show they would have a buttertart riot on their hands. I can tell you that everything on the shelves looked and smelled incredible — and I can’t wait to stop by for a piece of amazing looking pizza.

Yummy baked goods, great for bread and pastries. Stopped in for breakfast, got a great latte, a perfect pastry and interesting surroundings. Staff were great, and they treat their regulars kindly. Will I return: yes! Will I recommend: yes, already have

Absolutely Delish! I wandered in here today with a last afternoon snack craving, given that I had skipped lunch(the visit to the us embassy left me drained and I slept off the moment I got back to the hotel!). I spied some yummy looking bakery goods and a rack of pizza pies sitting to be devoured by the slice! The super friendly girl at the counter informed me that all their pies were veggie and some vegan/gluten free options too — none of the pies had any names unfortunately! I settled for the one with sundried tomatoes and roasted garlic. The thin crust slice was super yummy and I ate it up super fast. Lol! I almost wanted another slice, but I settled for the bite size brownie slice instead and it was a good choice! The brownie was decadent, just the right size and absolutely yum yum! The vibe of the place is very hipster, but warm and friendly! Loved the cork board with pictures of chefs and other random stuff! If I am here longer(weird look towards the US embassy), I will definitely be back! :):)
