Standard pub fare and beer. I used to love the nachos, but the quality and portion size has recently been on the decline. That said, there is a good selection of beers and the servers are all very friendly. Nothing to write home about, but a good place to grab a drink after work, especially if it’s nice out and the patio is open.

If you are looking for a good clean place to eat, this is the spot for you. From the friendly and pleasant server, Victoria, to the variety of menu options,(even for a vegetarian), including a large selection of beer, you will not be disappointed. The food was served warm and was perfectly cooked to my specification. Don’t forget to order the poutine — delicious!

Terrific oasis on a warm day. Beer selection pretty good. Must have the deep fried pepperoni!

They only had 1 vodka choice. Ridiculous. What kind of bar has 1 vodka choice. Also only 1 person serving entire room. I would never go there again.

Stopped in today after a walk on busy Sparks Street and got a great lunch here. I highly recommend that you try out the Veggie Quesadillas. They were awesome. It’s probably a semi unique recipe including goat, cheddar, mozza, and feta with olives, peppers, and fresh tomatoes. It was as delicious as it sounds! I could easily be a vegetarian with food like this. On the side I had a salad with balsamic which was also nice. This is probably the meal to try if you are at Brixtons. Service was great and the place is kept very clean too. The atmosphere is respectably quiet in this pub. I will definitely be come back for another helping of these soon!

Cute little pub that let us eat our poutines inside during Poutine Fest. I never ate any of the pubfood so I can’t comment on that but they had about a dozen beers on tab including Boddington’s, for those inclined to drink British beer. It’s pretty small so there are not that many seating options inside, but during the summer there is seating on the street with service. Our server seemed to be a little distracted, so it was a little slow getting refills at times. Overall nice, quaint little pub, not my favourite but I wouldn’t mind stopping here for a pint during the summer. Cash or credit only with an ATM on site.

On a weary evening, after extensive sightseeing, on a weekend when most downtown restaurants are closed, and when all you want is beer, you end up going to a random pub on a touristy street(see pics). Ofcourse the food is pricey and the mediocre but sometimes that’s the only option. Brixton’s pub advertised an Oktoberfest special. After serving a round of beers, they brought an appetizer of sausages. All of us were really surprised because these didn’t taste like greasy diner crap at all. The meat was nicely spiced and cooked to perfection. Accompanying sauces(I think plum based?) were great! Rest of the food was standard pub fare so I won’t write too much about it. But if you get to try their sausage dish, do that.

Based on an English style pub. Reasonable lunch pub but nothing flash. Had a steak sandwich. Steak was a bit dry but plenty of beer on offer. Ok place if your main reason for going is a beer and the food is just a snack. Service was quick and friendly.

Came here for lunch. The fish and chips were pretty good. Chicken wrap was mediocre. The maritime donair was really good — especially the sweet sauce. Overall, the price to quantity ratio was too high.

Stopped in here with the kids while strolling down Sparks Street. Good selection of beers on tap and ½ price nachos(Monday 4pm). Very tasty and the atmosphere was quite nice. I’d love to have a place like this within walking distance of my home! Note — I rated it good for kids during the time we were there — probably not so much after 8pm or so.

This place wasn’t amazing, but it had a great pub atmosphere and cheap bar food. Their poutine was also pretty good. I’d definitely go back, but it’s nothing to rave about. Great if you want some cheap, easy eats and a laid back atmosphere. Very limited seating, not good for larger groups, could probably only hold 100 people if even that, and of course if you drive you’ll have to pay to park somewhere, as it’s located downtown. They don’t validate parking either.

Two things make this place worth checking out — it’s usually fairly quiet and it’s affordable. A lot of «pubs» downtown rip you off quite nicely when it comes to prices. Brixton’s has decent drink AND food prices. I met a friend here after work today and realized I should hit this place up a lot more. I’ve never checked it out later in the evening or on the weekends.

I may name my first child Brixton. Okay, well maybe a goldfish or something. I was a big fan of the place before I even entered. You have to love the London underground-style sign above the door. The inside is very cozy and intimate. Every time I’ve been here it’s been busy and full of good vibes. Think a tiny version of Cheers but for the yuppie crowd. I haven’t had the food, but gawd it smelled good, and it came out of the kitchen at an amazing rate. I also have to say that the service was amazing. I love to ask bartenders to make me their specialty drink, and this was not a disappointment. I got the candy appletini. If you like your sauce a little sweet, you’ll love this drink!

Brixton’s is a great casual place to hang out after work or on the weekend; fast service, good grub and a nice atmosphere. It’s also very affordable; it was actually chosen as one of the best places to go by «Cheap Eats Ottawa» not too long ago. Most of the meals are under $ 10, and the portions are on the generous side. The Philly Cheese Steak Sub is a popular choice, while the Renegade burger is an unsung hero that is really good. The salads are also solid. The staff is energetic and friendly, so really the place has the whole package!
