These fine people at this kiosk in the mall, saw more of myself and my dad than I am sure they could do with in a lifetime.
Sometimes twice a day. They know just about everything we could have asked and had so many great suggestions and tidbits to offer us on our travels.
Maps, buying tickets, the bus set up, locations of museums and historic landmarks. they answered everything and helped with it all. They were honest when we asked things about any kind of crime issues, all that good stuff. They were just really special.
For people new to the city, just visiting or just want to meet some special folks, visit the Capital Info Kiosk!

For people that come to Ottawa on a whim, or those that are downtown and need more information on events, this is the place to go. The Capital Infocentre has all the information you need on festivals, events, and even some of the city’s history. I don’t make it a habit to go here, though, since much of the info you need is readily available online, but it’s just as easy to go in or call and ask if you’re not so computer literate.
The location is great for tourists, as it is right across from Parliament Hill. It also has the awesome Terry Fox statue in fron of the building, and don’t take my word for it, but I’m pretty sure that the Mosaika Sound and Light Show actually projects onto the Parliament building from the top of the Infocentre. Also, if you’ve ever wondered where those Ottawa Walking Tours depart from, this place is it.

First time visitors to Ottawa could find this place handy, especially if they don’t have a set agenda and are looking to schedule some local flavour in their visit to the capital.
The staff here are fluently bilingual and will approach people who stroll into the building to ask if they need assistance.
Anytime I’ve been inside the InfoCentre it seems most people are just passing by and stroll in to see what the place is about. The building is quite large but really there isn’t much inside other than some photos and historic videos of the region.
I wouldn’t go out of my way to check this place out since most of the information you get from here can be obtained by calling the InfoCentre but if you’re walking by I would suggest popping in and checking out the really cool 3D model they have of downtown Ottawa and the Hull sector. Kids will love this thing and for adults it gives you a neat perspective of how the area is laid out.
