History

Established in 2003.

McBead Creations were first formed in 1995 by mother and daughter team Barbara and Miriam McConnell in their home, making jewellery and custom beaded accessories for friends and family. They found people were inspired to make their own jewellery and beaded accessories.

The business quickly grew too large to remain home-​based, and so in March 2003, they moved McBead Creations into their first storefront location, in the Craig Henry Plaza.

In October, 2004, McBead Creations outgrew its original 560 square foot store location and moved into their current location, a large unit in the same plaza, 3 Chartwell Avenue, Unit #6. They have since expanded next door once again and now comprise a facility of 2500 square feet.

McBead Creations just celebrated its 10^th anniversary in April, 2013.
