M-M-M… y’all know what that stands for! But aside from how delish Michel’s Baguette sandwhiches are, it also stands for«Make a Mess of ME!» This tasty chicken sandwhich was very good. However, I don’t think I’d get it grilled again… makes too many crumbs from the toasted bread — which really did make a messof me! Still, very tasty. Friendly fast service for this take out service. They offer a small seating area(6 tables) across the hall.

Michel’s Baguette is a new bakery café in the Rideau Centre. It’s on the third floor, right before you get to the Mackenzie King bus station. I believe another similar café was here before it, so if you never pay too much attention to those things, you might just assume it’s the same one. Michel’s has breakfast croissants with bacon and eggs, broccoli and cheese croissants, and almond chocolate croissants. These are great for morning, brunch, or even as a snack, but I’d highly suggest trying one of their sandwiches. They’re freshly made with toasted baguettes, paninis, or I think in some cases wraps(don’t quote me on this one, though), and fillings like grilled vegetables, Mediterranean chicken, roast beef, turkey, or brie and pear. All of their items are a lot tastier and more gourmet than you would expect to find at the mall!

The measure of a bakery is their chocolate croissants and Michel’s is AWESOME. They go quickly throughout the day so they always taste fresh and it’s not your skimpy chocolate croissant that has one squirt of chocolate and that’s it. They pile it in and it’s a great treat for chocaholics! I’ve also tried some of their savory croissants — Buttery and well made. Ask them to microwave them for a few seconds for you. I was surprisingly impressed by this joint in the mall!
