Very nice place inside. When pulling in I was a little unsure. I ordered a pitcher and 21 wings not sure why the 1 but they were very good and would go back even though the bill was just a little on the high side. And I was in and out with in one hour and the people were very friendly. $ 33

Great food, excellent prices, but poor customer service. We visited O’Brien’s for the first time for dinner. There is very little parking, and upon entering it’s obvious it’s a seat-yourself restaurant. We took a seat. A few minutes later we were helped by a waitress who brought us menus and made some drink suggestions. There is a good selection of draught and bottled beers. The atmosphere is indeed nice: it’s a small bar, but it’s easily laid out with lots of TVs for watching sports. We knew we wanted to try the wings: 35 cent wing nights are every Monday-Wednesday 4pm to Close. Minimum order 15, maximum 30 at a time. Drink prices are very reasonable: about $ 6 – 7 for a mixed drink, $ 5 – 7 for a bottle or pint of beer. Unfortunately, it was like pulling teeth every time we needed our waitress: we waited almost 30 minutes for our wings after we placed the order, and she didn’t return to our table again until our plates and drinks were empty. We placed another order for some more wings and zucchini sticks; it would have been nice to have that order cooking while we ate our first order. So we waited another 30 minutes for our order. Both waitresses kept sitting down at a table, taking shots and drinking and chatting with who I assume were their friends. Finally, our second order arrived, but by that time(an hour and a half into our visit) we just wanted to go home. We ate and had the leftovers packed up. The zucchini sticks were excellent: they were marinated in some sort of vinegarette and freshly breaded in a light, crispy breading. They were very good. In all, our visit took over 2 hours to eat some wings and zucchini sticks and grab a few beers. I’m not sure if the waitress was just having an off day or if she really thought she gave acceptable customer service, but if it wasn’t for her lack of customer service skills this would have been a 4⁄5 experience.

My buddy and I went on a Saturday night. It was karaōke night, to our surprise. I didn’t think I’m a big fan of karaōke, until I went to O’Brien’s. It definitely added some excitement to the night! We each ordered wings and despite their small sizes, the quantity and quality made up for that. They tasted good! The waitresses were really friendly and homey! Prices were extremely reasonable! Overall, a great atmosphere, good food and even better prices!

Not fancy, but comfy, and the staff are friendly and get to know you. Both the food and beer is really good.

This pub is small, old, a bit run down but is full of the regulars. It a neighbourhood watering hole with a pretty loyal clientele. I have ordered lunch from here a lot of times now and have rarely been disappointed. Lunch specials like a big plate of lasagne is about $ 7.50! They serve a red from a microbrewery; gristone red… so good. And a pitcher is about 15 bucks. They have 40 cents wings specials Monday to Wednesday. The wings are a bit on the smaller side but the flavours from the sauces is good. They have karaōke Fridays and Saturdays. This is a good place to catch a game and booze up on the cheap! If you are looking for a casual pub to hang out at, this could be an option.

O’Brien’s is a local pub for your average guy. Nothing fancy here… just good food, good beer and great company. Don’t let the shabby outside fool you; the pub is friendly and warm within. Sure, the pictures and posters don’t match and the bannisters are falling out of the floor, but it’s cozy. Last visit my friends and I had a pitcher of beer and tonnes of wings(current price $ 0.40/wing). The place was incredibly busy and the poor, lone girl staffing had to serve all the tables AND mind the bar. Translation: slowish service and slightly cold wings but we were in no hurry and could kick back and relax.

O’Brien’s is just around the corner from our new apartment in Ottawa, so immediately it became«our local hangout». It is a cozy little pub with great beer(at GREAT prices!) and a great deal on wings. There are a number of big flat-screen TVs featuring sports and the music is a mix of vintage and new-ish rock. The menu features all your pub favourites and features a lot of package deals(pizza and beer and wings and beer deals) — which is SO cool in a city as expensive as Ottawa. And, best of all, O’Brien’s has karaōke every Friday and Saturday night. If you go for the karaōke, beware of the guy who sings Tom Jones — that will be me!
