Ottawa Special Events is a one stop shop for all event rentals. We rent tents, tables, chairs, linens, dishware, glassware, stages, pipe and drape, projectors, screens, televisions, speakers, microphones (wired and wireless) and all other audio visual equipment.

We have a full event design studio including Wysiwyg Lighting Design and Vivien to render shows in 3D.

History

Established in 2010.

Ottawa Special Events started out with literally just a domain name and a thought. Coming from the music business both Michael Wood and Peter Gilroy had been part of events for a long time. The thought was to create the only one-​stop shop in Ottawa for all event rentals.

Fast forward the clock four years, Ottawa Special Events followed through on that vision and offer their customers tent rentals, table and chair rentals, linens, concessions, dishes, cutlery, glassware, pipe and drape, stages, projectors, screens, televisions, sound equipment rentals and full audio visual services including installations.

Past clients include the Google, The National Hockey League, The Juno Awards, Cirque Du Soleil, Starbucks, Hockey Canada, NORAD and many countless private clients.

Meet the Manager

Michael W.

Manager

Michael Wood started in the entertainment business as a guitar player in a rock n’ roll band. As his career progressed, he was discovered by legendary radio DJ Casey Kasem. Michael released a full length album that was distributed by Warner Records in the United States. He is currently a voting member of the Recording Academy for the Grammy Awards.

Michael has published a book on the music industry which was the number one best selling music business book on Amazon in 2007.

Michael has since gone on to win a Forty Under 40 in Ottawa and be named a Top 10 Under 40 in Canada by the Canadian Rental Association. In whatever spare time he has, he still manages to teach eleven hours a week at Algonquin College and in 2013 was awarded a Capital Educator Award.
