I looooooove this place. The front has several tables where you can play X-box and a large projection screen for computer gaming. The bar has another TV which can have games played on it. The back has multiple booths that have there own consoles(including Nintendo/Super Nintendo emulator and Wii consoles). There is also flat screen TV for the N64 and a large projection screen for the WiiU. There is NO stay and play charge, they just ask you to make a food or drink purchase. The owner, Vince, is very nice and accommodating! I booked my birthday with a group of 10 people and he allowed to have the large projection screen, the flat screen TV and a booth at the back to play WiiU, N64 and classic Nintendo games. They also host multiple events such as the Geek Out, a LGBQTIA+ game board playing group and«Pens & Pixels Drink and Draw», a group of artists that get together and draw to a certain theme of the day while having a couple of drinks. They have a limited menu. I ordered the nachos and they a good size and decent value. They have Beau’s on tap, which is one if my favorite beers. This place is a MUST-TRY!

Retro video games set in a comfortable lounge style bar evoke an interesting sense of nostalgia. It reminds me of both trying to desperately beat Legends of Zelda: A Link to the Past(it only took 15 years, but finally beat it at 22!!) and my early twenties pub-scene days. There is something incredibly fun, and a little strange, to the contrast of being able to play video games from your childhood while also being able to order alcoholic beverages! I really enjoyed their selection of Nintendo and Super Nintendo games. I didn’t get to play the Sega system, but would definitely be up for going back to try it out. I really would only be coming in for the older systems, however, they do have a fair amount of newer systems for those who are so inclined. I really like that they don’t charge a stay-and-play fee and instead ask that you buy a food or drink item. They have a good selection of on-tap beer and other drinks on offer. Their food is quite limited to bar staples, such as nachos and poutine. The nachos were okay for the price(I think they were $ 10). They weren’t great, but an okay snack. I went with a group of 10 for Andre G.‘s birthday. They accommodated the group size very well and we pretty much had the run of the back half of the lounge. I think this place is a fun hang out and is worth another visit.

I’ve wanted to visit Blurry Pixel since it opened. The idea is genius — mix a bar, café/restaurant, and video games for group play by patrons. I was imagining either highly retro gaming systems(like the old NES, or even Atari 2600) or very modern systems on huge screens for group or networked play. However, I finally came with a group and was a little disappointed. The systems were fairly mid-level such as the Wii(with some Gamecube games) or Xbox 360. Most of the booths were small, and fit 4 people, with fairly small screens right next to your face. The larger screens and big booths(of which there were 2 that were active) were either taken, turned off, or were at the bar — not conducive to a group of 6. Finally, I was disappointed by the bar selection — no beers on tap, and only a basic selection of bottled beer and spirits. That being said, the service was friendly and helpful. The prices were pretty cheap for booze, and the brownie we ate was quite nice. Still, I was expecting more…

Amazing atmosphere, good food and drink. The attraction is obviously the selection of Consoles and video games to go along with them! Worth checking out!
