I must say this is a very pricy value village, I don’t know anyone in their right mind who would pay 12.99 for used linty and faded sweaters formally from Walmart and Sears that are misleadingly donated and hiked for profit at a store that is supposed to be value-oriented. The store people were also quite cranky.

You are almost guaranteed to find something at this location. They have so many things to choose from. Their selection is immense. They have a big and valuable selection of books for example. The store is very well organized and it’s always tidy. The staff is very friendly. The prices are a little high. However, if you keep looking, you can find some great values.

This Value Village has great selection for things other than clothes. Sure, they have a large clothing section, but I haven’t been able find much in the men’s or children’s sections. It’s great for off-the-beaten path items. Some recent scores include: — $ 26 Bridgehead travel mug for 99 cents(smartphones come are handy at VV) — lots of white towels for $ 2 — $ 2 for bag of forks and knives for the kitchenette at work — 3 sweet cashmere blend scarves at $ 2 – 3. In the summer months, I have found a surprisingly large selection of hockey equipment. Absolute steals if you can use them. The store has been a great spot for picking up soccer cleats and shin guards for all of my kids. My daughter loves her hot pink cleats($ 50-$ 75 retail) that I picked up for $ 4.99. This VV is cared for and the staff are pleasant & helpful. I haven’t found this location to be very busy, but I I attribute it to the sparse parking offered. I have noticed odd, almost nonsensical, price points on some of their offerings. I guess I have discovered that VV doesn’t necessarily have a process for pricing items. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to their pricing. As Melanie T. pointed out, some items are clearly overpriced. On the flipside, items are also underpriced(even for a thrift store), making this is a great spot for treasure hunting.

Treasure Hunt. Two words that describe this place to the Tee! Every time I walk into this store, I feel like I’m rolling the dice at the casino. You may walk out with the gold chips, or you may walk out with nothing. You win some, you loose some. I love this thrill though, I feel like when I do walk away with a sweater or a new pair of shoes, that I am probably one of few people that own this exact item. I’ll wear it until it’s broken, torn, or unwearable. And who knows, I may even decide to use it for something else in the end. Shirt bag anyone? However, despite how much I love the thrill of a thrift shop, unfortunately the prices have started to go on the rise, much like gas. I’m starting to see items in the store that are even more expensive than what they were originally priced at. I don’t get it. I can CLEARLY buy a t-shirt from bluenotes for $ 10… why would I buy the SAME one for $ 12 at Value Village? So 3 stars goes to Value Village — for being awesomely… expensive.
