Mooberry Vineyard & Little Qualicum Cheese Works

The Mooberry Vineyard offers super sweet wine served at a tiny counter in plastic shot glasses. In the same small store, the Little Qualicum Cheeseworks cheese tasting is from a cooler with open plastic containers with toothpicks available. Cheese was tasty and we picked up enough for snacking for the rest of the week. Friendly staff. Traveling with two families with kids ages 10 – 14. Kids were ready to leave after about 15 minutes.

Looking for a great day adventure with the kids? In Parksville, famous for its sandy beaches, in the French Creek area, there’s a working farm that encourages tours. The home of Mooberry Vineyard, with award winning fruit based wines (Blackberry is a fave, here, and I liked the Pear) and also the home of Little Qualicum Cheese Works… watch the process of the cheese making, watch the milking, wander the trails and introduce the kids to the feel of a working farm. Great information for city based kids, for sure. Sometimes you’re done with the beach experience, and looking for another kind of summer-scape…here it is. Definitely worth the trip, and there are both cheese and wine tastings offered in their country store. Enjoy!
