Haven’t been here for at least 7 years, dirty carpet is the same, chairs are worn out(they actually have pillows to raise you up) TV is now flat screen. Arrived at wait to be served sign, no one around. Two more people arrived waiting as well, they finally said to sit anywhere — I wasn’t comfortable doing that, finally got seated in a saggy chair. Menu is very slim compared to other establishment in town, wife had to order an appetizer of fish cakes(only two) and I ordered a steak hoagy(steak sandwich for $ 17) Food was delicious but wife had to eat my fries as she was starved, I would suggest this place add more to the menu, and might attract enough clientele to lower prices. There were only 10 people there for lunch figuring 1 bartender, 1 server, at least 3 kitchen staff plus overhead, taxes etc. I would think they are not making any money, sad as it is a good location with wonderful food

I’ve had REALLY mixed quality meals here. Certain family members love this place, so I’ve been here a lot. I’ve had very strange flavor combinations that did not work at all(tequila crème brûlée? doesn’t work. trust me), and solid well prepared fish and meats. Stay away from anything that appears«creative» because I don’t believe the chef here has the skill to pull it off. It kind of seems like someone trying to hard to make their mark and not succeeding, at all.

The Gazebo Bar & Grill at the Holiday Inn is an absolutely beautiful patio located on Peterborough’s waterfront. They have live music on Fridays which is very popular. Go for the music and the location. We’ve been there a couple of times and the food is mediocre, at best. At worst, my husband didn’t finish his burger on our last visit and he never leaves food on the plate. It was the featured Kawartha Choice Burger, so it should have been fantastic. Our server was very nice but they were totally understaffed on a busy MusicFest night. We were there for two full hours and not because we were lingering over drinks. That’s how long it took to be served two drinks a piece, two burgers, and pay the bill. With the apologetic service, we were surprised that they wouldn’t accept a gift certificate we had for the Riverside Grill as partial payment because it didn’t say, Gazebo Bar, on it. It’s the same restaurant under the same kitchen management. Very bad customer service call on the part of the manager. On a better note, we attended a special function at the Riverside Grill(inside) and were impressed with both the meal and the service. All five courses were delicious, inventive, and well-prepared. The staff was very courteous. We appreciate their association with Kawartha Choice and their selection of Ontario wines.

Kids eat free and adults eat well. One of the nicer restaurants attached to a hotel in terms of price, value and quality. Also an attractive outside patio, though we ate inside. Nice breakfast too.
