Fantastic meal. I had the tomato bacon soup of the day and the fish entre. My wife had the clara salad and the fish entre. Everything absolutely perfect. Brovo to the chef.

What a beautiful place! Last year I was here as a guest with some family, we booked 3 rooms for a Mother’s Day retreat. The house was beautiful. We spent the first day in the spa. The services were nice, though I don’t think there were enough staff on hand to service our group, we had to take turns while the rest of us sat by the pool, with the only 2 deck chairs we could find between the 6 of us. The eucalyptus steam shower was nice, but it was a good thing that all of us in the spa were family because it was a tight fit for 3 people. The food was the best part! What great menu items, everything was delicious! Dinner the first night and breakfast the next morning! The rooms — big beautiful suits, with seating and enough space to have a rowdy game of euchre!

There was a large group of us staying in 2 cottages for a bridal shower. Receptionist made checking in very difficult. She was argumentative every step of the way. She refuted nearly everything my aunt said claiming a lot of the extras we had previously secured were never asked for and it was impossible to assist us. She was condescending and disorganized. She should not be working in this industry as she clearly has ZERO people skills. More on her later… We were rudely advised that we could only have breakfast at 10:30 sharp and not a moment sooner. They were supposed to have other parties dining prior to us but those people did not even check in the night before(smart people!). It would have been ideal for them to let our party know so we could come and dine earlier. Nope, even at 1015 when no other patrons were in the dining room and all the staff was doing was ironing table cloths, we had to wait until 1030. The pool and hot tub are dirty. There is a lot of debris in the water and the areas are poorly lit. The waiter(Bill) looked down on us the entire time. There was no offer of water — we had to ask. For a 12 person party, it should just be a given that we’re going to need it. Bill acted like he was doing us a huge favour by simply bringing coffee, tea and eventually our food to us. He was not friendly, he was not kind, and he did not do a quality check on the food. He did not thank us for our patronage or wish us well. We did have a toddler in tow and I will be honest, I have a very low tolerance for children in fine dining establishments, but this one was ultimately well behaved with a few squeals of delight over his toys. We were in the dining room for about 50 mins in total at breakfast. Some people sat to finish their coffee while my aunt and the bride’s mother worked out the final bill at the front. The receptionist was very vocal in insisting to look over the bill to make sure we were paying for the 4 extra breakfasts that were not included. As if we printed the bill ourselves… Whilst I was finishing my tea, I heard Bill say, under his breath«…Get outta here» which was clearly directed towards us. There wasn’t that much to clean and we were not at all demanding. The little guy may have gotten his highchair messy. But seriously!?! Who are you? If you are so above this job, why are you here, Bill? You aren’t cut out for public interaction. Their only saving grace — clean rooms and great eggs at breakfast. Otherwise, don’t bother!

The restaurant at Claramount is fantastic. Had breakfast there twice, and you really can’t beat having your breakfast outdoors on their deck overlooking Picton harbour. I really like the breakfast burrito. It has a strong avocado flavour, so you have to really like avocado. I also like their herbed potatoes — a different twist on the traditional home fries for breakfast. The second breakfast I had the wild mushroom frittata that was again excellent with a lot of arugula. For dinner I had local pickerel which was done well with an interesting crunchy texture to it. My wife had the potato soup make with local dark ale and local cheese. Both dishes were fabulous. I highly recommend this place.

The restaurant at the Claramount is spectacular, among the finest of the finest! Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I had leek soup, then striped bass for an entrée, and then a rich chocolate dessert. The tasty sauce on the bass was memorable. Congratulations to their new chef!

The first time I went to Picton I stayed in a B&B and my BF was not impressed with the B&B option… so the second time around, I let him choose and to my surprise. he chose the Claramount Inn & Spa. We stayed in the coach house which was separate from the main house and I felt like I was flashed back in time where horse drawn carriages and balls happen. I loved it! We took a dip in the salt water pool and enjoyed the spa… everything was fabulous! I highly recommend a weekend at the Claramount Inn and Spa and check out the wineries in the area. you will not regret it
