I was really pleased that the menu listed vegan items, including vegan caviar and a mazza plate(hummus, baba ganouj, dolmathes, toasted pita, greens and olives). I ordered the latter and enjoyed it a lot, although it was slightly richer than what I would normally go for. It was also great to see the coffee was Fair Trade(at least, I assumed as much based on the Fair Trade certification sticker on the window). Coconut milk was a lovely optional accompaniment with the coffee.

The food was cold, but the service was colder. These pretentious snobs seem to imagine they define haute cuisine in Port Dover, and believe any customer is lucky to dine there. But they have a great deal to learn about grace and good manners. And the food wasn’t haute, it was barely warm.

This was a pleasant surprise. For a small town, you often don’t have high expectations with regard to unique and«better than average» food. However, the selections at Jasmine’s never cease to impress. With all the dishes I have tried, they add their own little slant to it, and the result is always better than good. In fact, I’ve been surprised that certain combinations of ingredients result in such fantastic flavors. This is definitely a place to dine whenever you have an opportunity. The only disappointment are the soups I have tried… lemon chicken(like drinking out of a finger bowl) and french onion(one of those times where ‘creativity’ did more harm than good — but that may be subjective). A business colleague thinks they have an excellent Pad Thai. Despite my issue with the soup, I can’t recommend this place enough.

Great food right on Main Street. 3 of us headed here for lunch on the recommendation of a local, and we weren’t disappointed. I had a chicken wrap that was super tasty. Plenty of seating, and it was quite enough for the 3 of us to have a 2 hour chat.
