Like most of the people on here, I had a groupon type thing for just a hair cut. The stylist was nice and actually did a good job cutting my hair, she did it really fast. My only issue was at the at the end of the cut she put me under the dome drier and after a few minutes said I was done. I have medium length hair so the top of my hair was less damp and the ends were wet. Really strange doing that to a customer. Anyways just because of this I won’t go back here again. There are lots of hair dressers in Port Moody, I have pretty much tried them all and this is on the bottom of this list.

Today I walked in for a shampoo Blowdry, being from out of town(and a hairstylist myself) I thought a quick trip to the salon would make my trip that little more enjoyable. Sadly, the stylist I saw was quite critical of my «dry» ends and my tangly fine hair. Im a hairstylist, I know the condition of my hair sucks, but no need to comment on it when I’m here for a pick me up, not a tear me down. I would never treat a client this way and was a little disappointed that’s how their customer service is.

I bought a groupon for a cut, condition, and«partial highlights» that cost me $ 52. Keep in mind if you buy this groupon that it does not cover the cost of a tip, or taxes. As some of the other reviews state, «partial highlights» only refers to the top section of your head, regardless of your hair length or how long you need the highlights to be. I was a little annoyed to learn this, only because I have long blonde hair with a couple inches of root regrowth, and I assumed that partial highlights could also be considered«just the roots» as opposed to the whole hair strand– if that makes any sense. So I asked how much it would cost extra to do ALL my roots(not just the ones at the top of my head) and she says it would cost $ 100 extra. I decided not to go for it, because it no longer seemed like a great deal.(52 for the groupon, 100 extra for the highlights, over 10 in taxes, and at *least* a 10% tip based on the FULL price rather than the groupon… equals out to be a lot more than what I’ve paid for the same service at other salons… at their full price!) The groupon states it’s worth $ 230 in value but I certainly didn’t feel that way. Just saying: Had I paid $ 230 for the service I got, I would have been sorely disappointed. I simply didn’t feel like I was scoring an awesome deal at any point. My stylist was good! She did the highlights faster than I’d seen anybody do them. The conditioning treatment was a hair mask that sat on my head for about 3 – 5 minutes while I sat at the sink. My hair feels and smells nice, but again, it certainly wasn’t worth the full price of $ 30 that they charge for it according to their website. I think there was a bit of a miscommunication regarding my cut, as I said I wanted the layers trimmed but not the bottom.(Thinned out, but not losing any length.) She mostly just trimmed the very top layers, and left the mid-length layers totally untouched. They are really frizzy and damaged, so they still need attention. Could have been a language barrier??? Or she just felt super rushed. All in all, I think the quality of service suffered *because* I got a deal. Perhaps had I paid the full $ 230, they would have given me a more thorough cut and condition, and maybe even more foils. I paid $ 52 for $ 230 worth of service, and definitely only got my $ 52 worth. These guys are ok! And they seem good at what they do… But I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for the experience. FYI I know it wasn’t my stylist’s fault that the time and quality of service was limited. She did her job to the best of her ability, and I tipped according to the price it was supposed to be worth! OH, and for the record I was *not* charged for shampoo, or blowdrying. :)

This place was meh: I bought a social shopper coupon for a keratin treatment, and I just wasn’t impressed with the experience. The stylist touched my face a couple of times when doing my hair; the water temperature used to wash my hair wasn’t even lukewarm, also she got water in my ears; gave me a dressing gown with hair all over the inside, thus got all over my clothes(when I asked for another one due to the amount of hair on my clothes, she didn’t bother apologizing or made any comments, or gave me another one for that matter); messed up my bangs, then telling me «it’ll fix itself when I wash it and do it myself»; was quite rough when it came to straightening my hair, almost clamped my ears a couple of times. Anyway I do realize that this is a coupon so you get what you paid for, but honestly I’m so disappointed by their service, I wouldn’t consider going back. I’ve had much better services and results with other salons of the same rate.

I bought a groupon for haircut, conditioner & partial color for $ 59(value of $ 169)… I went to the salon and was not really impressed at all, they made me wait over 30 mins for my appointment with out even apologizing. Plus my groupon had so many limitations and extra add on charges… I paid extra for blow drying since it wasn’t included and i also paid extra for a few more highlight’s because my groupon included just a small section on the top of my head. I ended up paying $ 70 extra!!! I’m surprised shampooing was included since it wasn’t on the groupon. I am not impressed with their high prices and would not go back or even suggest it to anyone. My highlights turned out good but my haircut was awful and not even… I ended up going somewhere else to fix it.

Bought a Groupon for 3 Brazilian waxes for $ 60 which is probably the cheapest one yet to be seen. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again… with Groupons, you truly get what you pay for. For that reason and that reason alone, I deem the service three stars instead of two. The wax was rushed and messy — I left with a bit too much wax on my junk for comfort and a bit too much cleaning up to do once I got home. The price vs. quality of service debate is quite the conundrum but considering the sheer number of Groupons available, maybe businesses will learn that $ 60 for a regular price service is a teensy bit steep.
