not great at all service is slow and just expensive for what you get.

This is an attempt at a trendy restaurant, much like those in Vancouver. The décor is coastal inspired as the name suggests, but the food is more like an upscale pub in many respects. I’ve tried a number of items on the menu and it’s been hit or miss. Portion sizes are fine, except the mac and cheese, really tasty, but skimpy on the portion size. The cost for it was too much for so little. $$$ really should be given for all the prices. The burgers, sandwiches and casual fare items are good, as is the new flat bread. Appetizers questionable. Some are over priced for what they are and others just aren’t that good. The chicken bites are crunchy and sometimes rather dry, then drowned in BBQ sauce. I’ve tried them with the sauce on the side and they were much better. The pork wontons are okay. The calamari is cooked well, but the coating is rather on the heavy side and the jalapeños they serve as part of the dish are overpowering. As I said hit or miss. The service is really good, no complaints there. Every server is pleasant, smiling and willing to help. They almost have it right, just some tweaks and things would be worth more than three stars and three I think is more than fair.

Quick stop for lunch. Had the mac and cheese without pancetta and it was awesome. Service was timely and extremely friendly. Would surely come again.

I had an absolutely delicious burger here for lunch, it was«Mike’s Meaty Backyard Burger.» It was a huge homemade pork and beef patty with caramelized onion, natural smoked bacon, aged cheddar, dijon Mayo in a fresh artisan brioche bun. Service was good too. I came back in the evening and found the atmosphere and service to be warm and inviting.

Went here for dinner and it was so good! Had the Brussel sprouts to start and then the beer can chicken. The sprouts were roasted and charged to perfection and the chicken was juicy and pan seared on one side to give you some amazing crispy skin! This place is a must visit when in Powell River. Great food, great wine and great service!!!

All I can say is I should have started with the desert. The Bourbon Pecan Galette could possibly have been the absolute best thing I have ever eaten in my entire life. So light, flaky, and melts in your mouth delicious, nothing could surpass this delicacy served with vanilla ice cream, and a spectacular bourbon caramel sauce. For my main dish I have the Montréal smoked meat sandwich and poutine, this was also delicious. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere lively, I highly recommend this restaurant.

A sophisticated eatery with a waterfront view and a great ambiance I was driving, and hence not drinking alcohol, but their bar selections looked great(single malt scotches, etc.). I had the short-rib sliders and a root beer(good driving food), but felt like I was the exception — most folks were settled in for a leisurely and fancy brunch. I’ll definitely stop when I’m in town again. It’s fancy without being too formal. A great place for drinks, brunch or dinner.

This place is nice inside the food is not bad the menu could be bigger for entrée’s. The waitresses and host are wonderful, only thing if you find something wrong with your meal — DONT send it back as you will have the manager come out and embarrass you and tell you about starving children in the world because you sent it back. They don’t take criticism very well as if you criticize any of their food good or bad you may get banned from the restaurant, as I was for saying my Salmon burger tasted a little off.

I was pretty excited to see a new place hit Powell Dam, I mean River. My husband is from this adorable town, so I have visited enough to know that pickings are slim if you are wanting a nice restaurant experience WITH good food. We were a party of four and seated immediately. All the workers were super friendly. We were all very happy with our meal, all very tasty. I got the quinoa sliders, probably should be named, mini-quinoa sliders. Luckily I am a tiny human that does not require much food to function so it was fine, but for what you are paying + lack of sides(as in… there are none), it was a bit of bummer to pay THAT much. The menu is diverse so you will have many reasons to come back. I hope this place makes it. It looks great downtown and offers something Powell River was missing. So good luck Coastal Cookery. I will look for you when we return to PR!

This restaurant is a breath of fresh air. Good vibe. Clean. Modern. Good food, in moderate portions, priced fairly. Decent wine selection and some interesting cocktail offerings. I liked the sever’s ‘uniforms’ of denim leggings, black tops and Tom’s flat shoes. They looked professional yet casual. As a female I appreciate not having to stare at cleavage or bums during my meal. I would be happy to visit again.

We had a really great experience here on our last trip. The waitress was friendly and accommodating! The food was well presented and absolutely delicious! The view couldn’t be better either! We got the Quinoa Sliders, Thai Curry Bowl, Coconut Curry Lentil Soup and Asian Tuna Greens. The environment is west coast contemporary — fresh, but still keeping in character with Powell River history. A must stop if you’re in the area. They’ve just opened, but they’ve got food ad service down to a science! Highly recommended to all and hope to be back soon!

This restaurant is just what Powell River needs! It’s only been open a little over a month and I’ve been there twice for lunch and once for dinner and each time I was very pleased with the food and the service and the price. The owners have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make sure everything is top notch. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, which is a real pleasure and not that common here. I’d say the menu has been carefully thought out and the food I’ve tried has been delicious. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality and the type of restaurant. The décor is very attractive and it’s wonderful to be able to sit outside on the deck and look at the ocean. I hope they do very well and keep up the high standards they’ve set for themselves.

One of the noticeably new and trendy eateries in downtown Powell River. We were intrigued when we walked by and saw the room was full. Very modern and west coast. We were told a 29 min wait but found ourselves seated at a fabulous table on the over facing patio within 10 min. Fantastic view, too bad about the power lines. Service was fast and friendly but slightly awkward — the place has only been open 3 weeks… Newly opened jitters??? Ordered drinks off the drinks menu… Pricey but tasty and very strong… I had to get more mix in mine, but I am a light weight. Food came quickly, tasted great, good value… I had Mike’s Burger, Yosuke had the Salmon Burger. Had the kalamari as an appy. All were wonderful and decent size portions… But it is obvious that Mike in the kitchen likes salt! Should be easy to push the $ 9 drunks cause the salt in the food will make ya thirsty! Great place. We will be back!
