Blaxton

I’ve been here a few times so will compact my review:
First time eating here I tried the classic burger, very yummy and nice fries. We were there a bit before dinner time, it gets very busy with the after-​work crowd so don’t expect a quiet meal. It’s a sports bar too, so if there’s a big game on, even louder. Second time eating here I had the Texan burger, again soo yummy. My girlfriend had the poutine, also quite good. Big downside though, she is vegetarian and there were like 2 choices for her (poutine or mac & cheese). So this place is not very vege-​friendly.
Have also been here a few times for drinks, there are afternoon beer specials and loads of choices for beers & spirits. It is a little expensive but what do you expect in this part of town? Downstairs is a pool table too so that’s fun. Will definitely keep coming back here, though not too often for my wallets sake!
Also very good service, there is one girl (very tall) who has been there most times I’ve gone, she is lovely. Also a man (sounded France-​French) who was very nice too, my French isn’t great and they both helped out!

Il faisait beau ce soir là, alors nous voulions être sur la terrasse mais elle était plein. Le serveur nous a gentiment dit qu’une table allais se libérer. Nous n’avons attendu plus de 10 minutes pour avoir accès à notre table. À l’occasion du burger week, nous voulions déguster leur proposition de burger qui semblait très alléchant. Je n’ai pas été déçus, le seul hic c’est qu’il se mangeait difficilement avec les mains et nous avons du le manger à la fourchette pour né pas s’en mettre partout. Mais le goût était au rendez-​vous. Je vous suggère aussi les boulette de viande frites Panko comme entrée. Ils en valent la peine. Le service est très bien et les prix aussi.

Je fréquente ce lieu depuis des décennies. Ce bar et restaurant a su s’adapter à sa clientèle locale et de passage. Service impeccable, sourire au rendez-​vous, à l’écoute de ses clients. Le Baxton a un menu varié: burgers, pâtes, poissons… on y trouve à tout coup un plat pour apprécier l’ambiance et prendre une bière.

Je suis allée manger un vendredi vers 21h. Et j’ai été très surprise de voir qu’il n’y avait presque personne dans le restaurant. il était tôt mais je m’attendais à ce qu’il y ait quand même plus de monde et une petite ambiance pour un resto-​bar de la rue cartier… Sinon j’ai adoré mon hamburger et le service était excellent:) j’y retournerai c’est sur mais beaucoup plus tard pour voir l’ambiance de ce pub quand c’est rempli de gens…

R & I were on vacation and were looking for a place were we can watch the Warriors game 5 and Blaxton was the only place we found. The place was empty on a Sunday night at 9 but who cares we are here for the game.
We were starving so we shared the pesto burger with a side of poutine and the goat cheese and arugula pizza. Everything was blah. Nothing great just something to feed our very hungry stomach. Everything kinda lacked flavors. Come here for beers and drinks maybe but defintely not for food.

Well don’t expect much from this place. They were playing Candy Shop — 50cent, twice… Order a drink received the wrong one and couldn’t get a new one. They charge 4 $ for a coat check and expect a tip on top of it… Just charge me a cover if you want to make money on entry… Probably/​definitely will never come back!

You can usually tell what the staff think of you when you dine alone. I went in at 2PM in the afternoon and it was really dead, save for five customers including me. I was walked to the bar and seated. I ordered the soup, filet mignon and a glass of white wine. The soup was ok, but the barmaid removed my bowl before I was finished and without asking. About ten minutes later my filet came up, and while it was pretty good, the vegetables were not fully cooked and the baked potato was still pretty crunchy. The barmaid had disappeared and the hostess was too busy checking her appearance, putting on lip gloss and checking the messages on her iPhone to notice that I had stopped eating. After fifteen minutes of being ignored, I walked out, meal not finished and more than half a glass of wine left. What could have been a delightful experience turned into one that left me feeling awkward and alone. I was employee of the month and had gotten a 50 $ certificate as a prize and I was really looking forward to getting out to the Avenue Cartier and feeling part of something. Well, they got the better of me. Disappointing.

Lundi wok excellent! pour 10 $ vous avez un excellent wok au choix parmis 7 ou 8 proposés, Bonne ambiance, tres bon service! En plus les bieres en speciale jusqu a 20h, j ai adoré!

Le Turf est certainement un des endroits les plus populaires de l’avenue Cartier.
Récemment, il a changé de nom pour «Blaxton «, mais tout le monde s’en fou et l’appelle encore le Turf! Je crois même que si vous demandiez à quelqu’un où est le Blaxton il né saurait quoi vous répondre! Même que les propriétaires ont conservé l’enseigne «Turf «.
Ainsi, le Turf (ou le Blaxton) est un bon endroit pour relaxer entre amis autour d’une bière ou d’un repas. J’aime beaucoup leurs hamburgers, d’ailleurs!

Excellent endroit à connaitre sur Cartier. Sur deux étages, ce bar à l’ambiance de Grande-​Bretagne se veut un compromis parfait entre pub et club. Le dancefloor est petit, certes, mais présent!
L’abondance de table et de banquettes satisfera également ceux qui ont le pied plus lourd et le coude plus léger. La bière est très abordable (pichet de Keith à 9 $) et le service est très amical! Si vous tombez sur Alex (une blondinette de Montréal), vous serez assurés d’un bon service alors, né soyez pas radin sur le pourboire, et profitez de votre soirée!

Good beer and sandwiches around the corner from our B&B. Waiter was friendly and English-​accommodating. Would go back for more beers and hockey!
