We were walking through the shops and restaurants, when we reached the top of the first flight of stairs, leading up from the lower level, of old Quebec City. A smiling, extremely gracious hostess, suggested we might enjoy having lunch, at this restaurant. The location was fantastic, and the prices were very reasonable. The staff were all very friendly and most accommodating. We were made to feel right at home. The roasted chicken breast and rice was absolutely delicious. Other more costly restaurants in the area could learn a lot, from the staff of this place, as to how to treat a patron. If you eat outdoors, enjoy the view, but be sure to go inside and see the place. It was built in 1742. The hostess shared a bit of its history with us, which was much appreciated and another example of how gracious and helpful she was. Thank you to the whole staff and the violinist outside, for making this our best lunch, during our week in Quebec City.

Horrible steak and dessert. We had steak full of fat with a very weird taste. The dessert(brownie) seemed like it was left in the fridge for a long time. Lunch was very expensive just for a small piece of steak and fries($ 18). I would really avoid this place.

This restaurant specializes in chicken. The hostess was telling some other restaurant goers it was the best chicken in Quebec, but that claim was largely exaggerated. We grabbed lunch here, but should have kept walking. The food was fairly greasy, and not too exceptional. Imagine a lot of it is right out of a freezer and onto a hot plate. You can see the kitchen window where the food comes out, but it looks like a pretty small kitchen. The beer menu is very limited(only 4 choices), and none of them are local. Opted for a mixed drink instead, but the ice was blended still too big to fit in straw. We ate, we didn’t get food poisoning, the service was decently friendly, and they made sure our water was topped up — so that saved them from 1 star.
